Great day at St George's Weybridge against the OGs on their President’s Day. We retained the salver!

Excellent victory in what was a much closer game than the 8 runs difference suggests. Tom Bull skippered superbly on his match-managing debut and Ben Cooper top-scored with 77. All the bowlers made useful contributions with Alex Radcliffe (debutant) picking up the crucial wicket of Sami Maj in his brace. Many thanks to the Old Wimbledonians CC for another fantastic day down at the club.

Great to see all from and thank you to Old Wimbledonians CC for hosting us yet again. Well played and congratulations to the Wanderers on getting their name on the Cup!

New Club Patron, Scyld Berry (OA), receives his Club tie from the President on the first day of the Lord’s Test this year.

For long we have pondered the origin of the Club’s colours: Blue, Black and Gold. Before the formation of the Emeriti in the winter of 1871/2 by Lord Petre and prior to him taking holy orders, his XI played cricket wearing the same colours at Thorndon Hall, Essex. We are grateful to Scyld for sharing a 1927 article (not penned by him) on the origins of the Club.

Fantastic first match of our tour to Rome. Following fine knocks from Freddie Timmons (49) and Club Captain Tom Fleming (60) we set 169 to win. We squeaked home by a run.

Fantastic game of cricket to finish the season at against their Autumn XI. The hosts managed to hold on for the draw with their last players in as the sun went down on what has been an amazing year for the Club. Well done all involved!

Possibly the youngest ever Emeriti side put out as James Fortescue skippered our squad in the Hugh Morton Memorial 8 a-side Tournament yesterday. Made up entirely of recent school leavers who had been coached by club stalwarts, Antony Down and the Hon. Sec, we performed superbly in winning our four group matches before succumbing to the eventual tournament winners in the semi-finals. So many thanks due to the organisers and we can’t wait to return next year!
