Friends International York Are you an international student? We’d love to see you at our international events! Life in a foreign country is challenging, confusing and difficult.

We understand the difficulties that you might be facing and would like to offer you friendships, hospitality and love so that you may feel welcome in York. We have a weekly international cafe or event every Monday. No matter where you are from, we'd love to see you! Come along with friends to meet more new friends, learn more about different cultures and practice your English. It is free and every one is always welcome. Life in a foreign country can be fun, fruitful and exciting. Let us help you to make the most of your life in York!

Come to meet new friends and getting to know each other though a series of ice breakers. There will be a brief introduction to Britain too!

We are organising a day trip to Harrogate. Come to explore the beautiful Yorkshire town. There is also a free garden party on the day at the Harrogate Valley Gardens, where you can enjoy some music.

Bring some picnic food and join us to play some fun garden games: croquet, Kubb (a classic Swedish outdoor throwing game where teams take turns using wooden batons to knock down the opposing team’s wooden blocks), frisbee and so on. We will also provide some snacks!
