What's stopping you from training?

Over the last few years I've taught WW2 combatives to people all over the country through seminars, events and private lessons. But I'd like to hear from a different group: people who are interested in the subject but haven't come along to one of our regular weekly classes in York.

If you've ever considered it and decided against it, I'd genuinely like to know why. For example:

-Is York too far away, or is a weekly class too much of a commitment?
-Is the day or time just inconvenient?
-Would you rather attend occasional seminars or short courses instead?
-Or is it something about how I present or advertise the classes?

I'm not asking to argue or convince anyone they're wrong. I want to understand what people are actually looking for, and whether there's anything I could change to make training more accessible.

Fairbairn specifically tells you to pretend to be afraid when attempting to disarm a pistol.

Other than the obvious reason that you don't want to make them suspicious that your going to try something, I think another reason is that if you cringe away a bit you can get your hand closer to the gun.
