*U9s are Nidderdale Junior Cricket League Runners Up!*
It poured with rain for finals day, but it didn't dampen our spirits! A great morning of cricket saw Ripon finish in second. With 30 teams across the divisions this year, coming second to a very strong Harrogate side was a great testament to how well we have played all season.
In the semi final vs Bilton in Ainsty, we put on an absolute masterclass in the field to restrict them to a net score of just nine runs!! It was our best fielding performance of the year taking nine wickets with three direct hit run outs, and wickets for six of our eight players. Absolutely incredible. We chased the total with ease to win by 63 runs and progress to the final.
Facing Harrogate, who put us in to bat, we never really found our semi-final form in the face of some very accurate bowling. We once again bowled and fielded well but without enough runs of the board, Harrogate deservingly won the final.
It's been a fabulous season of junior cricket, and it was a shame it finished in torrential rain, but all the kids have been brilliant this year and the coaches, managers (and parents!) could not be prouder of their achievements.
