Match report to follow, but what a day for this amazing group of girls. Finished top of the table in group stages, a semi final win progressed us to the final.

Hessle Tournament Review

You guessed it — another weekend, another tournament for our Tigresses. This time, we headed over to Hessle Rangers.

With four groups of four in the opening stage, we kicked off against Goole Town Tigers. It was a tight, evenly matched game with both sides cancelling each other out, but Goole struck late to take a 1–0 win.
Next up were Hessle Rangers. Still trying to find their rhythm, the girls slipped to a 2–0 defeat.

After a chat about starting quicker and moving the ball faster, the Tigresses responded brilliantly — finishing the group with a 1–0 win over Kingswood. A well‑worked move finished by Amelia, assisted by Abbie, sealed it.

Stage Two saw us qualify for the Europa League section — three games, with the top two progressing to the final.

First up were Cottingham Blues. Another very even contest, neither side giving much away, ending in a 0–0 draw.
Then came Cottingham Whites. After going 1–0 down early, the girls dug deep. Amelia produced a brilliant solo run and finish to earn a deserved 1–1 draw.

That set up a decisive final game. We knew a win would take us to the final. A nervy start didn’t stop the girls carving out chance after chance against East Riding, but the finishing touch just wouldn’t come… until the final minute.
A bursting run from Freya and a driven cross that deflected in gave us a dramatic 1–0 win — and a place in the Europa League final.

Awaiting us were Cottingham Whites — the same side we faced in the South Cave final last weekend, where they edged it on penalties.
Cottingham took the lead with a superb strike, and although the Tigresses battled hard and created chances to get back into it, we just couldn’t find the equaliser, falling to a narrow 1–0 defeat.

A long day for the girls, but one where they grew into the tournament and saved their best football for the later stages. Another tournament down, and two more to go — Wetherby next weekend, then our final outing at Wigginton in a few weeks.
