🌧️🌧️ Two Abandoned Fixtures🌧️🌧️

Sadly both of our games on Saturday were abandoned nearly half way through. Ed Greaves (sponsored by the Dixon Fans) top scoring for the seconds with 25* with 5 overs left Ed was a settled at the crease as he is in his swivel chair at Johnson’s of Whixley.

Monty Jackson picked up 4-36 for the first team before the game was called off at the half way stage. Big day for young Josh Rennilson as he got to sample scoring for the first time hopefully the start of a big few years in the box.

Bilton first team head to the city of Leeds Metropolitan Borough on Saturday to take on Oulton, it was famously once part of the Rothwell Urban District until the famous 1974 merger. According to Wikipedia Oultons has 3 notable former residents,Richard Bentley theologian, critic and scholar, who became Master of Trinity College, Cambridge.The cricketer and Anglican clergyman Henry Bell was born in Oulton and Francis Ingram a slave trader and privateer. What Francis got up to was pretty crumby back in the 1790s. Biltons Francis is a much nicer guy.
Huge day for Swires and Melling on Saturday as they get first team call ups. Bilton’s Monty Jackson has spent the start of the week bowling to Joe Root, Monty didn’t wear his Bilton top for this in fear of association with Joes stalker and former Bilton player Nick Briggs.

12pm start at Oulton Sports Club.

Bilton second team are at home this week. Shan is gutted to not have Andy Acaster out on the field with him again but Andy has kindly offered to do the teas so he can still spend the day with his new best friend Shan. Copeland and Coe also play.

🚙 The scorers boyfriend and his team travel to Crayke to play Clifton Alliance. Surely Shans first trip over Aldwark bridge and one he won’t forget. Crayke was granted to the church and St Cuthbert used Crayke on visits to York, much like Subhan, Bhalot and now Bolton Percy do at Bilton in Ainsty CC though we won’t grant them the ground but they could build us a monestry or some new nets if they’d like. One name you will notice on the team sheet is Andy Acaster, to prove his fitness Andy ran the length of Elvington airfield runway to prove he’s ready and when he got to the end shouted “I’ve finished” just like he does when he’s finished his dinner.

It’s a 1pm start at Crayke.

🏏Saturday Teams🏏

🚙On Saturday Bilton first team head to Thirsk racecourse. Only fitting the son of one of the areas top vets plays here. Hopefully experienced seamer Ian Hutchison can get through his overs without the need of a screen and humane Euthanization. The scorers boyfriend also gets recalled back to side.

🏠The second team take on York third team at home. Phillip Atkinson on the teas famously had a legal threat from sandwiches forcing him to drop them from his last tea but with the legal support of judge Menary this year they could return.
