We are delighted to announce a change in leadership for the 𝟮𝗫𝗜 for 2027.

𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻: 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘁𝘁
Will has been appointed as 2XI Captain following Sim Pickering’s four-year tenure. We are delighted with this appointment as Will has been a fantastic signing for us in the last two years. We are looking to seeing him lead this talented set of lads.

𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻: 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗲𝗻
Josh will be taking the VC role in the 2XI. Josh was VC this season in the 1XI and previously Captained Hartshead Moor CCs 1XI. He will thrive in this team and his leadership capabilities and development skills will help younger players no end.

Both Will and Josh will still be included in our 1XI squad for the 2027 season, giving us not only a very strong 1XI but a strong base for our 2XI to challenge in the Premier Division.

We are very proud of their attitude this season and we know the 2XI is in very safe and capable hands.

🍂 OUR AUTUMN / WINTER OPENING HOURS ARE NOW IN EFFECT 🍂

⚠️ IMPORTANT: These hours take effect immediately. The clubhouse will be closed tonight, Tuesday 22 September.

We want the clubhouse to remain welcoming, enjoyable and financially sustainable for everyone who uses it.

After reviewing three complete years of historic sales patterns, the same trend is clear across multiple autumn and winter seasons. On some of our quieter days, routine opening regularly costs the club more in staffing, heating and other running costs than those sessions bring in. This is not a reaction to a few recent weeks, but a responsible response to the longer-term evidence.

We are therefore concentrating our regular opening hours on the days when the clubhouse is used most. This will help us reduce avoidable losses while continuing to provide a great place for members, guests and the wider community to enjoy.

OUR REGULAR OPENING HOURS

Monday: 7pm-11pm when Yeadon C.C. darts are at home
Friday: Open 5pm, last orders 11:30pm
Saturday: Open 12 noon, last orders 11:30pm
Sunday: Open 12 noon, last orders 10:30pm

Tuesday to Thursday: Closed unless an event or booking has been announced.

The clubhouse will also open for selected club events and private bookings. Members will be updated through Spond, and public events will be advertised here.

𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨! 👨‍👨‍👦‍👦🔴⚫️🟡🏏

We would like to thank 𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 and 𝗗𝗮𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 for their hard work in 2025 and 2026 in the 1XI. They have both been an integral part of the project to get us back to the Premier Division but they will not be retained for Yeadon in 2027.

We are sad to see them go but we would collectively like to thank them both for their hard work and commitment in the last two seasons and wish them the best for 2027 and beyond.

𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻: 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱
Jude has been given the Captaincy of the 3XI following this season as Vice Captain. Jude, having captained teams in the past two seasons has always shows leadership capability and also a good working relationship with players, young and old. We cannot wait to see what Jude will do with this team next season.

𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻: 𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻
Jake has been appointed as Vice-Captain. He has finished the season strongly and is a player that the younger kids look up to. Jake has asked for more responsibility which is great to see and we know he will make an impact for us and for himself.

Both players are more than capable of playing in the 2XI in future seasons so having them lead the 3XI in 2027 shows our commitment to not only play younger players but to help them develop as leaders on and off the field.

🎄 STALLHOLDERS WANTED — YEADON CHRISTMAS MARKET 2026 🎄

We’re bringing some Christmas magic to Yeadon Cricket Club on Saturday 12 December 2026, from 12 noon until 4pm — and we’re now inviting applications from local independent businesses, makers and sellers who would love to join us.

We’re looking for a brilliant festive mix of:

✨ handmade crafts and decorations
🎁 gifts, art, jewellery and homeware
🍰 baked goods, confectionery and festive treats
🌟 other quality local products and community stalls

Stalls are £15, with all stall fees intended to be donated to a named local charity.
