Two different versions of me. Same discipline. Same consistency. Different goal.
On one side, the back end of prep body fat stripped right down, food low, fatigue high, and every decision geared towards getting as lean and conditioned as possible.
On the other, the peak of a gaining phase more food, more bodyweight, more strength, and a completely different look. The goal here isn’t to be lean. It’s to fuel performance, recover, grow and build the physique that I’ll eventually reveal when it’s time to diet again.
Both require discipline. Both require consistency. Both require doing what needs to be done even when motivation isn’t there.
The actions might look different depending on the phase. Sometimes discipline means dealing with hunger and sticking to the plan. Other times it means eating another meal when you’re already full, pushing your training, accepting a little more body fat and trusting the process.
Different approaches. Different outputs. Same mindset.
Whatever stage you’re at, don’t get caught up comparing your current version to somebody else’s or even to a different version of yourself.
Know what your goal is. Understand what that goal requires. Then show up consistently enough to make it happen.
Your goal determines the approach.
Your discipline determines whether you get there.
