Bassetlaw's home of Sport, Leisure & Entertainment, a small group of determined people formed North Notts Community Leisure Ltd and took over the former District Council managed facility The Bassetlaw Centre on the 4th January 2006, renaming it the North Notts Arena. We are a registered charity and not for profit organisation, initially supported by the District Council, however, since April 2015 that support ceased and we now financially self sufficient. The Arena’s aims and objectives are to work closely with the local community keeping them fit, healthy, active and engaged. Offering a range of indoor sports including snooker, bowls, a gym, fitness suite, football, 50+ activity classes, badminton, table tennis and fitness classes. Running a small charitable organisation is always a challenge, particularly in today’s financial climate, however, with many diverse income streams and continually re-visiting management structures, staffing levels and what we offer to our local community we have maintained a relatively successful facility. The Trustees and Management Team are very much ‘hands on’ with a positive and pro-active ‘can do’ approach to all challenges. Over the past 16 plus years we have developed a very successful Events & Hospitality Section working with the local community offering a diverse programme of events at very competitive prices. Ranging from wedding receptions, party nights, family panto’s to boxing and karate events. It has been a very challenging 16 years, we are still here, still operating and offering what we believe to be great value for money opportunities to our local community.
