Following the decision made by the RFU to delay the 2026/27 season until the week commencing Monday 21st of September we have had some changes to the Seniors’ fixtures! Please see below the updated fixtures table!

We are looking forward to see the seniors back in action this season and look forward to your support on the sidelines!

Our first game this season is on the 26th of September on our home turf!

🏉 2026/27 WORKSOP R.U.F.C SENIORS LEADERSHIP TEAM 🏉

As the season is fast approaching we are proud to introduce your Seniors’ leadership team for the 2026/27 season ahead!

Firstly our Captain returning to his role for a second season
⚫️⚪️ Simon Rollason ⚫️⚪️
Commonly known as “Si”

Simon first got into the sport at age 5 running around the local club field at Leek R.U.F.C. Here he played for their mini and junior teams before his debut into the Seniors 3rd team, he also occasionally stepped in to play for their 2nd’s. Simon continued at Leek until 2018 when he moved away eventually settling in Worksop in 2019, he stepped away from the sport until after the covid pandemic when he joined us at Worksop R.U.F.C for the 2021/22 season. Simon has remained a dedicated member to our team and club over the years being one of our long-standing players. Simon has played many positions throughout his time in the sport such as Centre, Flank, Eight, Prop and Second row. He first stepped into the role of Vice Captain in the 2023/24 season supporting previous Captain Reece Waddell for two seasons, before stepping into the Role of Captain in the 2025/26 season. We look forward to watching him step back into this role and to lead the team into the upcoming season ahead!

⚫️⚪️ Cameron King ⚫️⚪️
Commonly known as “Kingy”

Cameron first got into the sport as a young teen starting here at Worksop R.U.F.C. He trained and played for the juniors on the wing before stepping away at the age of 16. He later made his return as an adult in the 2023/24 season after friend and fellow player Jacob Hainsworth convinced him to get back into the sport. Since then he’s found his love again for the sport and has become a dedicated member to his team and the club. Cameron initially started out in the forwards as blindside flanker before stepping into position as ho**er. He first took the role of Vice Captain back in the 2025/26 Season as previous Vice Simon Rollason stepped into the role of Captain. We look forward to watching him step back into this role for the new season ahead.
