Danvic are arriving this morning to begin the aeration of the fairways.

The work will be ongoing throughout the week, so there may be some disruption to play while the work is being carried out.

This is essential maintenance to help keep the course in the best possible condition.

Golf has been part of the story here for well over a century.

Founded in 1893, Workington Golf Club has developed into a magnificent James Braid-designed parkland course, offering a challenging par 72 and plenty of character throughout its 18 holes.

Situated on the West Coast of Cumbria, just a few miles from the Lake District National Park, the course enjoys a setting that is difficult to beat. 🌳

On a clear day, golfers can take in spectacular views across the Solway Firth towards Scotland, while looking east reveals the impressive Cumbrian fells.

But Workington’s story isn’t only about the course. It’s about generations of golfers, members and visitors who have enjoyed the club since 1893 — and the welcoming community that continues that tradition today.
