We were never in any doubt that this was going to be a tough game for us against a fantastic Abbeytown team.

We scored the only goal of the night midway through the first half when our top scorer Kirsty Bates’s shot come cross found the back of the net.

The second half was all Abbeytown who were desperate to get themselves back into the game, but we have a fantastic defence led by the evergreen Sarah Bargh who were just as desperate to keep a clean sheet.
We also have Kelci 🧤who’s been amazing for us in goals this season & she saved her best performance for when it mattered most. Earning herself everyone’s Girl of the Game 🥇

So it was a huge relief when the final whistle went & our captain Sarah Smith lifted the teams first ever trophy 🏆

It’s been a brilliant season & a shame that it’s over, but we just want to wish all our players the best of luck in their respective competitions over the winter.

Also good luck to Abbeytown Ladies FC in their upcoming league season.

There’s 2 global events happening tomorrow night & you can see them both at the County Ground, Whitehaven.
First off it’s The Solar Eclipse which is closely followed by The Wildcats 🐯 who are taking on Abbeytown Ladies FC in the Summer League Cup Final from 7.15pm 🏆🌙

Our season concludes this coming Wednesday night as we face Abbeytown Ladies FC in the Cumberland FA Women's League Summer League Cup Final.

Whitehaven Blues-3

We ended this league campaign with a defeat against Whitehaven Blues.

We conceded an early goal from the penalty spot & were then punished twice just before the break with 2 well taken goals.

Heads were down but we never gave in, defended doggedly & got ourselves a couple of consolation goals.
The first one was scored by Octy Smith & the second was a penalty of our own which was smashed home by Kobie.

All of our lasses were amazing tonight & really worked hard for each other.
Our GOG was Olivia Rayson & the refs choice was Steph Holden.

We have a week off now, before we’re back for our cup final against Abbeytown on the 12th August 🏆
