π‘ We've come to the end of the Summer is ending and it's time to leave the fairground.
π I wanted to have some fun with menopause. When you're in the midst of perimenopause it does NOT feel fun, but you can get through it, not every day is awful and it's a time of life where you can embrace opportunities.
π As today is Monday, I'm also sharing my blog

βοΈ I'd love to know how did you get on with the theme of 'Just one thing' in August, or what was your top takeaway from the
πΊ For me, it's the perimenopause map and the reminder that you're not lost, you just need the right map. And a toolkit to help you through.
π©΅ I'd love for you to follow me, and we can build this toolkit together. Not everything will be relevant for you, so pick out what is, and let go of the rest and let's navigate this crazy time together.

This πΈ I'm enjoying Martha Collison Waitrose & Partners sticky toffee flapjacks.
Are they the healthiest flapjacks I could eat? Probably not! (Sorry, Martha!)
Are they the tastiest flapjacks? They're right up there!
So take some time today to do something good for your soul. And eat the toffee flapjacks!

π‘ It's the last week of August and we're coming to the end of the
π Menopause also has an end, and on the other side, that's where it gets good.
π©βπ§ We can spend one third of our lives after menopause. We have wisdom, knowledge and experience and really, life is just getting started.
π©΅ If you're finding it tough right now, hang on in there, it will get better.

π My blog this week (https://clairemelvincoaching.co.uk/how-to-manage-overwhelm-in-midlife/ returns to my 'just one thing' theme for August.
π©βπ I start a course today (I'd promised myself I wouldn't do another on after my menopause support coach course, but this was too tempting not to do) and the reading list cane through yesterday.
π Honestly, I opened the email and immediately felt overwhelmed, especially with everything else going on right now. So I took myself outside, had something to eat and then dipped into a DIY project that's been on hold for about 2 years!
π The result? I decided to focus on starting the reading, looking after myself this week and everything else could wait.
π₯Ί It can be so easy to get caught up in the overwhelm, especially as I'm perimenopausal and my body does not always play ball, and when that happens, take a breath and then think 'what's the one thing I can do which will make my life easier / better / is my immediate priority?' and then do that.
βοΈ If you focussed on just one thing this week, what would it be? I'd love to know.
Curtains, Courses and Choosing What Actually Matters - Claire Melvin Coaching
Curtains, courses, websites and a reading list that made my head spin. Here's why I put it all down and focused on just one thing.

π‘ At the we're at the toffee apple stand today...
π Sweet on the inside, hard on the outside, occasionally hurts your teeth, hard to get through as well...
π¬ It's a bit like perimenopause! (Stick with me!) It's like when you go to your GP - trying to get through your symptoms AND have your GP listen to you and take them seriously...
π And the core at the end? You chuck it in the bin and maybe, just maybe, continuing my analogy, you give up because you're just exhausted.
π¬ But you deserve so much better. You deserve to be listened to, respected, and there is a way to enjoy your toffee apple, I promise you. And if you want to know how, drop me a DM. No hard sell.

πββοΈ This picture was taken after I'd finished the Unity 5k in Birmingham on Sunday. It was the last day of the European Athletics Championships and after the marathon, a 5k 'race' was put on, so you could run part of the marathon route.
π For some reason, I thought this sounded like a great idea, so I signed up...
πββοΈ Event day arrived, I'd done the Snoopy trail the day before, my body was tired, I was tired (I'm perimenopausal and have barely slept through the night since the new year), my period had come early, it was hot... you know, the perfect day for something like this!
π I wrote about the day and well done me for showing up, and I have a shiny medal to show for it! π

βοΈ My question to you, what are you capable of, if you try? I'd love to know.

π‘ We're revisiting the 99 in today's
π¦ Do you have any wins to celebrate this week? Honestly, just getting through to Friday is a win in itself π It is hot!π₯π₯΅
π¨ Alternatively what's your favourite ice cream flavour? I, cough, did not get myself a box of Almond Magnums yesterday. No siree π

π‘ We're off to the Hall of Mirrors in today's
πͺ Do you find that when you look in the mirror, you don't recognise yourself? And not just physically. You're a shadow of yourself. Exhausted. Emotional. Lacking in confidence. Not the person you used to be...
πͺ There's a reason for this - it's falling estrogen and the impact this has on your identity, your mood and your level of self-perception.
βοΈ So what can you do? You can speak to your GP and see whether Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is right for you. If it isn't, or that's not something you want to do, then look at your lifestyle - stress, movement, nutrition and being mindful all play a part.
π And if you'd like a conversation about this, drop me a DM.

My theme for August is

I'll be honest, I meant to post this last week and completely forgot I even created it ππ
My theme for August is
It's to take the pressure off the month, enjoy the weather and be intentional.
