🏉 THROWBACK | The Last Game of the Season – A Proud Performance at Whitchurch 🔥

Result: Essington 27–61 Whitchurch 2nds

The final game of Essington RUFC’s 2025/26 season saw the lads travel to top-of-the-table Whitchurch with just 15 players.

Despite the numbers, the team put in a performance they can be incredibly proud of, earning a well-deserved losing bonus point in the process. 👏

Looking back at these photos, you can see just how much the team enjoyed this game. Turning up as the underdogs, the lads kept the spirit alive and put up a real challenge against Whitchurch.

The determination, competitiveness and never-give-up attitude really showed throughout the performance. Nobody backed down, nobody stopped fighting, and everyone played their part.

This game proved that even when you’re the underdog, you can still enjoy the occasion, compete at your best and come away with a performance to be proud of. To earn a losing bonus point against a team that went the entire season unbeaten makes the achievement even more special. 🔥🏉

Every player played their part — putting in the much needed effort to obtain those points and supporting each other throughout.

And that’s what makes this team so unique: a group that fights for each other, never blames one another, picks each other up after mistakes and, most importantly, never gives up.

A brilliant way to finish the season. 🏉
