🏆 LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 🎉

Congratulations to our Softball 1s side who have been confirmed as the winners of WSB Division 2. They were lead superbly by Captain Nicola Tatum alongside the off field work she does for the whole section as well it was very deserved.

This is a back to back promotion for the side having won Division 3 in their first season last year. This sees them entering Division 1, the top division, next season. 3 in 3?

Well done everyone who helped the side get there! Takes an army!

With the season wrapped up, a thank you to Gihahn Cloete who recently returned to South Africa ahead of his season with the Flexbrands Knights

Albeit he had a shorter stay, he made a great impact in his time with us. On the field for the 1st XI, 460 runs @ 57.50 including 2 hundreds and of course, 2 wickets.

But, also off the field. ‘G’ was a friendly face around the club. He shared his time and knowledge with our Senior, Women’s & Junior sections. Making a positive impact on these players that we know they appreciated.

We wish G and the Knights the best of luck for their season, which seems them return to the top level of SA Domestic Cricket. Their first match is tomorrow against North West - go well!

🔥 LUKE MAIDEN 5️⃣ FER 🏏

Well bowled to Young Oak Luke Buchel who secured his maiden Senior 5 Wicket Haul on Saturday. One to watch, he charged in hard and reaped the reward against Eversley at Reddam.

Remarkably, we have multi-angle coverage of his fifth wicket. Clearly, the 6s analytics team were working hard! Enjoy the moment, well bowled Luke!

🏏 SHIV TAKES 5️⃣ 🏏

Some quite remarkable figures as Shiv came on third change against Sonning 3s and took 5 wickets for only 8 runs! What’s more he was involved in a sixth getting a run out and was at the crease when they got over the line to secure the victory. A bit of an all round day, well played Shiv!

💯 DRABS CARRIES HIT BAT 🏏

In a crunch match for the 3s, Joe Drabble stood up when it counted. Carrying his bat for 125 red and setting Newbury 1s 278. A total that was too much and led the 3s to a third place finish.

11 Fours, 2 Sixes & a 132 run opening partnership with Chinmay Kulkarni - he ‘produced’ when needed. Enjoy the moment he got to 100!

⬆️ 2s PROMOTED! 🏏

With Saturday’s victory against Beaconsfield, the 2nd XI confirmed their promotion to Division 1 of the Thames Valley Cricket League.

They finished runners up, just 3 points behind to Beaconsfield. Congratulations to them. An incredible achievement as Wokingham will now be one of only two clubs with a 2nd XI in Division 1 - the highest a 2nd XI can reach in the structure.

Congratulations to Captain Jarrett Bobb for leading his team to this fantastic achievement. And thanks to all those who helped the side along the way - especially the scoring team of Harrison Brand-Smith, Ronnie Fullbrook, Grace McKehon, Joe McKehon & Luke Watt who provided a critical role in helping the side in their success.

A dramatic final day across the club, survival confirmed for the 1st XI, promotion sealed for the 2nd XI, and a top 3 finishes confirmed for the 3rd XI and 6th XIs, alongside wins for the 5th and 6th XIs.

🟡 1st XI: The 1st XI fell to a 106-run defeat at home to Aston Rowant in HCPL Div 1, despite a superb individual bowling performance from Jacob Clark, but results elsewhere on the final day confirmed survival in the division, finishing 8th. Bowling first, Clark took 5 wickets, including a hat-trick, finishing with excellent figures of 5/57, with Max Uttley also among the wickets at 3/44, but the opposition's middle order built a substantial platform before an unbeaten century took the total to 297/9. In reply, Shaan Khan's 59 was the standout innings, well supported by Sukhi Kang's unbeaten 28, but Wokingham were bowled out for 191 in 37.3 overs.

🟢 Women's 1s: A loss for the Women's 1s at home to Cookham Dean did not damper the end to a fantastic first season, finishing 2nd in HCPWL Division 3A. Batting first, Chandrika Sharma's 30 and Roseanne Luther's 23 anchored the innings as Wokingham posted 129/8 from their 25 overs. With the ball, Poppy Pritchard picked up the solitary wicket to fall, but the visitors chased the total down in 18.1 overs.

🟢 2nd XI: A hard-fought 3-wicket win for the 2nd XI away at Beaconsfield confirmed promotion on the final day, capping off a brilliant campaign that saw them finish 2nd in TVL Division 1B. Bowling first, Muddassar Nawaz led the attack with 3/38, with Michael Longridge and Thomas Hampton both chipping in with 2 wickets apiece, as the hosts were bowled out for 200 in 49.3 overs. In reply, Thomas Hampton's 70 got the chase moving, well supported by Mushtafa Mushafa's 40, before Jarrett Bobb's unbeaten 20 saw Wokingham home in 39 overs.

🟢 3rd XI: A dominant 122-run win for the 3rd XI at home to Newbury saw them leapfrog into 3rd place in TVL Division 4A on the very last day, as results elsewhere fell their way. Batting first, Joe Drabble struck a magnificent unbeaten 125, well supported by Chinmay Kulkarni's 79, as Wokingham posted 278/4 from their 45 overs. With the ball, Jake Staples was outstanding with 4/41, well supported by Hugh Doyle's economical 2/25, as the visitors were bowled out for 156.

🟡 4th XI: The 4th XI went down by 166 runs away at Hurley to finish the season 5th in TVL Division 5B, a comfortable mid-table finish that had already been secured before the final round. Bowling first, Jitto Joseph took 3/11 from just 2 overs, with Rayan Chib also among the wickets at 2/60, but the hosts posted a big 294/9. In reply, Vyan Mehra's 27 and Ben Nichols's 26 gave the innings some substance, but Wokingham were bowled out for 128.

🟢 5th XI: A 5-wicket win for the 5th XI away at Knowl Hill closed out a solid season that saw them finish 5th in TVL Division 7A, their position already secure heading into the final round. Bowling first, Shiv Muniyappa produced an outstanding spell of 5/8, with Mahesh Bhandary also economical at 1/13, as the hosts were bowled out for just 111. In reply, Ranjeet Sidhu's rapid 37 and Suneer Bhat's 18 set up the chase, and Wokingham got home in 17.4 overs.

🟢 6th XI: A 7-wicket win for the 6th XI at home to Eversley rounded off a superb season, finishing 3rd in TVL Division 9C, though results elsewhere meant the side just missed out on promotion. Bowling first, Luke Buchel was outstanding with 5/33, well supported by Adam Smith's 2/30, as the visitors were bowled out for 153. In reply, Om Gore's rapid 70 and Ishaan Kulkarni's unbeaten 40 guided Wokingham home in 23.5 overs.

A huge thank you to all players, captains, coaches, umpires, and scorers across the club for their efforts this season. Onwards to next year!
