SNOOKER:

The Saturday Snooker Handicap, played on 5th September was won by Dan Hughes with George Heatley coming runner up! 👏🏻

Big news from the tournament as well was a fantastic 121 clearance from Club (new Byfleet league) player Jason Wright!
Thats now the highest break across all of our handicap tournaments, and we'd imagine will take some beating! Well done Jason! 👏🏻

The next Saturday Snooker Handicap will be on the 5th September starting at 11am. Registration from 10am and practice from 10am to 10.50am.

There was no Monday night tournament this week but the next scheduled one is on 14th September at 6.30pm!

The Monday Snooker Handicap Flyer, played on 31st August was won by Russ March with Labeeb Ahmed coming runner up! Russ also won the high break prize with a 76! 👏🏻

That's three handicaps in a row for Russ now.. with a pool cue! And with that pool cue he came runner up in the recent Bank Holiday 54 person JWSL pool tournament, It took England player, Phil Marriott, to stop him.. and only just! This is fantastic achievement by any measurement. Well done Russ!

On Sunday, JWSL hosted the inaugural JWSL Under 21 Open, bringing together some of the country’s finest young snooker players for a fantastic day of competition 🎱

The title was won by talented young Cuestars U21 Gold Tour player William Thomson, with fellow Gold Tour player Noah Gartell finishing runner up! Noah produced an impressive semi final performance, beating newly turned professional Oliver Sykes to reach the final!

We also trialled a new High Break Handicap Adjusted system. A player’s highest break is added to their handicap to create their adjusted break. For example, Vincent Callender made a 55 break, which became 69 with his +14 handicap.

The standard was extremely high throughout the day, with adjusted breaks including Caden Read 62, Lennon Savage 62, Noah Gartell 62 and William Thomson 66. However, it was Ben Taylor-Jenkins who took the High Break award with an excellent adjusted break of 75 👏

A huge thank you to Bob Toulouse for refereeing throughout the day and the final, and to our Terry Teeman for organising the event and all the hard work he continues to put into developing these competitions!

Most importantly, thank you to every player who took part, and to all the parents and guardians for the support they provide behind the scenes. It was brilliant to see so much young talent on display and a great reminder of how exciting the future of snooker looks!
