Pilates is for everyone

You don't always have to feel confident before you start moving again.

After an injury, operation, illness or unexpected setback, it's very normal to feel unsure about your body.

The temptation can be to wait until you feel ready.

But sometimes confidence starts to return because we begin taking those small steps — even while we're still a little worried.

You don't have to do everything you used to do.

You just need to find somewhere to start.

This week I have been trying to bring to attention the feeling people have when they encounter an unexpected setback with their body. Often after the body has healed we still dont feel confident or trust our bodies. It takes time and we need to be kind to ourselves, keep moving and focus on our little wins

You don't necessarily rebuild confidence by waiting until you feel completely confident.

Sometimes it happens the other way around.

A gentler class.

A shorter walk.

A movement that feels a little easier than last time.

Small experiences can start reminding you that your body is still capable.

And you don't have to do it alone.

The full video is coming Saturday.

**Trusting Your Body Again 💜**

After an injury, illness or setback, it’s easy to worry about every little ache and lose confidence in your body.

You don’t have to jump straight back to where you were. Small, manageable steps can help you move forward and rebuild trust.

What’s the next thing you *can* do?

Have you ever noticed that after an injury, illness or unexpected setback, you suddenly become much more aware of everything your body is doing?

A little ache can feel much more significant when you're already worried about your health.

It doesn't mean you're imagining things. It doesn't mean the sensation isn't real.

But becoming constantly alert to every sensation can sometimes become a cycle of its own.

Have you experienced this?

Sometimes the hardest part isn't the diagnosis...

Or the injury.

Or even the recovery.

Sometimes it's learning to trust your body again.

If you've ever felt nervous to move after surgery, an injury, illness or a setback, you're not alone.

It's completely normal to lose confidence in a body that suddenly feels unfamiliar.

The important thing to remember is that confidence doesn't usually return all at once.

It comes back one small step at a time.

One walk.

One class.

One movement that reminds you, "My body is capable."

You don't have to rush.

You don't have to be where you were before.

You simply have to keep moving forwards.

Because rebuilding trust in your body is just as important as rebuilding strength.

Confidence in your body rarely comes back all at once.

If you've had an injury, illness, surgery or unexpected setback, it can be tempting to wait until you feel completely confident before you start doing more again.

But often, confidence grows from the small things we do along the way.

One walk.

One class.

One movement that feels a little easier.

You don't have to prove anything to your body.

Sometimes you just need to keep taking small, manageable steps and let those experiences rebuild your trust.

If you're on that journey, you're certainly not alone.

Has your body ever let you down?

After an injury, operation, illness or unexpected setback, it's not unusual for something else to change too — your confidence in your body.

You may have physically recovered, but still find yourself wondering:

"Can I still do that?"

This week I'm exploring what happens when we lose trust in our bodies, and how small steps can help us rebuild that confidence.

You're not alone — and you don't have to get back to where you were overnight.

Before you decide that your knee pain must be coming from somewhere else...

Let's be clear.

Sometimes the problem really is the knee.

And it shouldn't be ignored.

But sometimes, there may also be other factors influencing how the whole leg is moving.

So perhaps the question isn't always:

"Is it my knee or is it my hip?"

Sometimes there may be more than one piece to the puzzle.

The important thing is not to ignore the painful area.

But also not to assume it's the only thing worth looking at.

The full video is coming this Saturday.
