It was a pleasure to welcome Màiri McAllan MSP for Clydesdale to Wiston Lodge to meet visiting school pupils taking part in outdoor activities.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to discuss the recent Schools (Residential Outdoor Education) Scotland Act 2026 and what it could mean for our community, from supporting young people and strengthening learning opportunities to recognising the vital role outdoor education plays in helping pupils thrive.

A big thank you to Màiri for taking the time to visit Wiston Lodge and see first-hand the value of outdoor learning.

153 Scouts, Cubs, Squirrels & Beavers + 33 Leaders + the Wiston Lodge team = one epic day packed with adventure, fun and memories! ✨

🌲 What a day of adventure at Wiston Lodge!

Yesterday, we welcomed 153 Beavers, Cubs, Squirrels and Scouts, along with 33 leaders, from Biggar, Lanark, Carluke, Tinto and Stonehouse for a day packed with outdoor adventure, teamwork and plenty of fun!

From exploring our Walk Among Giants trail and taking on the Night Line, to team challenges, bushcraft, backwood cooking, crafts and problem-solving challenges, there was plenty to get stuck into.

With the groups mixed up, it was also a brilliant chance for everyone to meet new people, work together and make new friends — all while getting out into the Wiston Lodge woods and having a great time!

A huge thank you to all the leaders and volunteers who helped make such a fantastic day possible. 💚
