🎣 Focus On... Sparrow Grove & Tetton Flash! 🎣
It's time for another instalment of our Focus On series, and this week we're heading to Sparrow Grove & Tetton Flash – two neighbouring waters near Warmingham with a strong reputation for carp, tench and winter predator fishing.
🌊 Two waters, one venue...
Arriving at the venue, Sparrow Grove is the first water alongside the road and parking area.
It's the smaller of the two waters and has a wonderfully natural, mature feel, with plenty of features and character around the banks.
For many anglers, carp are the main attraction at Sparrow, with some cracking fish present, while the water can also produce some excellent tench fishing through the warmer months.
The water also contains bream, roach and perch, so there is always the possibility of something different putting in an appearance.
A little further on is Tetton Flash, a larger and very different-looking water with an interesting piece of Cheshire history behind it.
Tetton is one of the area's characteristic "flashes", formed following land subsidence associated with the historic salt and brine industry. Over time, the resulting water has developed into the mature fishery we know today.
🐟 Carp, tench and winter pike...
Carp are again a major draw at Tetton, with some impressive fish present and plenty of water for anglers to explore.
Tench can also provide some fantastic sport, particularly during the warmer months, while pike become a real attraction through autumn and winter for those who enjoy predator fishing.
Tetton also holds bream, roach, perch and crucian carp, alongside occasional reports over the years of some rather more unusual residents.
Between Sparrow Grove and Tetton Flash, there's plenty to keep anglers coming back throughout the seasons – whether that's chasing carp through the warmer months, targeting tench as the temperatures rise or getting the pike gear out when winter arrives.
