That’s a wrap on the 2026 season.
And after taking a few days to recover here’s the first of a few posts this week.
For the 1st Team, a first league title in over 20 years. For the 2nd Team, their highest league finish in a long time.
Both are a reflection of the work that’s gone on across Wilsden CC over the last few years, on and off the field, and a pretty good indication that things are moving in the right direction.
A massive thank you to everyone who has played for the club this season, from the regulars to those who have stepped in when needed. And just as importantly, thank you to everyone who makes the club tick away from the cricket — the people who put the work in behind the scenes, the volunteers, the families and the cricket widows who probably deserve a special mention, and everyone who simply turns up to watch, have a drink and support the club.
It doesn’t happen without everyone pulling in the same direction.
The trophies will go in the cabinet, the season will go in the history books — but the work carries on.
There’s plenty to be pleased about, but plenty still to do.
And if you thought that was it for 2026, think again. The next stop is Bonfire Night, with plenty more to come — including the presentation evening photos, which we’ll be sharing soon.
Thanks to everyone who has played, helped, watched, supported, volunteered, poured a pint or simply turned up.
2026 has been a good one.
Now, onwards.
