Many congratulations to Wilmslow Bowling Club.
Their Division 1 team have won the Alderley Edge Veterans League Knock out Cup for the third successive season. A remarkable achievement !
A big thank you to Macclesfield Bowling Club for hosting the finals day on August 21st. and for making everybody who attended feel so welcome.

A close, overcast morning slowly turned into a perfect summer afternoon as Wilmslow Bowling Club had the pleasure of hosting the Knutsford and District Ladies Team Knockout Cup semi finals and final.
In the semi finals, Alderley Union overcame Crosstown to set up a final against Castle Ladies who edged out KBC, winning by just one point.
The high standard of bowling continued into the closely contested final with the Alderley Union Ladies deservedly lifting the winners trophy.
A big thank you has to go to Wilmslow Bowling Club for their hospitality. A lot of behind the scenes work goes into the staging of these events and their efforts were very much appreciated by everyone who attended.
Many congratulations to Alderley Union Ladies and thanks again WBC !

August 9th. Presidents Day at Wilmslow Bowling Club. Another memorable day in the WBC calendar, this time to celebrate Mandy Maffie's presidency. A huge thank you to Mandy and the team of helpers for the delicious buffet lunch. One of the best and very much appreciated by all who attended. Catering for over 40 people is no easy task. Thank you again. Given the energy draining conditions a lot of praise has to go to the 32 bowlers who took part in the bowling competition. After 5 rounds of close and competitive bowling, the day drew to a close around 6-00 pm when Steve Roberts lifted the ' Presidents Cup ' after beating Alan Nottingham in an entertaining final. Many congratulations Steve ! A worthy winner. Another very enjoyable day at Knutsford Rd. Here's to the next one !

The sun was shining at Wilmslow Bowling Club for the British Heart Foundation 'BBQ & Bowls' event, held in memory of Dave Pettit. The weather, the setting and the large attendance all helped to create a special atmosphere. A very big thank you to Chris Banfield for the delicious BBQ and to Sue and Christa. Your 'Strawberry Delight' dessert was perfect ! Alan Nottingham and Ian Wynne organized the ' not too competitive ' bowling competition which produced a very worthy winner in Martin Cloves, himself a prodigy of Dave's Wednesday morning social bowling sessions. Many congratulations Martin ! The day drew to a close with some warm and heartfelt words from Dave's wife Paula, thanking everybody for their kindness, help and participation. Dave would have loved it !

Wilmslow Bowling Club B team in the Knutsford Bowling League who finished 1st in Division 5. They have been promoted for winning in that division.
