A positive post for once..........Willington Match record has been beaten again today on the Over 60s match.Dave Chamber...

A positive post for once..........Willington Match record has been beaten again today on the Over 60s match.

Dave Chambers made it 3/3 match wins with 121lb 6oz, absolute brilliant weight!!!!

Pete Hill was second and pushed Dave all the way with 107lb 1oz.

Colin Barratt was 3rd with 68lb 14oz.

Over 500lb of fish have been caught today in 5hrs, all of them in immaculate condition and that is testament to how the lake is being run.

I've always said from the start, I don't give a monkeys about other anglers opinions, moaning, views.............it's always been about the fish welfare, that's why I get annoyed about how some people treat the place.

I don't need to stock it every year, I look after what I've got and I nurture them, with the help of a fishery management company and a very good carp feed, that not only helps them grow but keeps them healthy.........shout out to both JS Fisheries & BP Milling.

So yeah personally l don't need qualifications to run an event, or harvest the small fish to allow growth, and improve the fishing.............I employ people who know what they are on about, and do what they tell me for the good of the lake.

So yeah I'm a very very happy chappy..........and Willington Lake is only getting better and better.

Ps .......just for the haters, the carp averaged I'd say 5-6lb today, hardly a massive carp only lake. Cheers 🍻🍻

Info regarding Cubs visit to Willington Lake on Thursday evening.

We have 19 kids confirmed, and we will be aiming to be ready for a 6pm - 6.15pm start.
I shall be up there from 4pm to begin setting equipment up.

Again can I ask volunteers to bring their own seat box, landing net pole, landing net and bait tubs.........and any additional seating they may have.

What a great day we had yesterday, hosting Warwick Scouts at Willington Lake.

A fun time was had by all, with plenty of carp, bream, roach and perch caught, judging by the whoops of excitement everyone enjoyed themselves, and there were plenty of PB's caught.........looking forward to receiving the photos.

Can I just add how polite and respectful the kids were, I had some very interesting conversations with the 4 l helped out.
Credit to the Scout group.........got a good bunch there. 👏

To guys helping on Saturday with the scouts event, firstly thank you.

I will be there from 7am - 7.30am to start setting up the gear.

Can you bring your seat box, landing net, landing net pole and bait tub. Also if you have any spare camping chairs can you bring them as I can't remember how many seat boxes and chairs we got in tackle shed.

First session will be 9am - 11am & second session 11.30am - 1.30pm.

We got 18 kids on the first session & 16 kids on second session.
