Wigan Sports Club are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Steve Gore.

It’s hard to put into words just how much Steve meant to everyone at Wigan Sports Club. He was a true beacon of light — always wearing the warmest smile and ready with the biggest hugs.

Steve loved our club dearly. Nothing made him happier than seeing the room full, surrounded by friends, laughter, good times, and of course, a bit of karaoke. There was truly no party quite like a Stevie G party.

It’s difficult to imagine a world without Steve’s light in it, but his memory, spirit, and the love he shared will live on through everyone whose lives he touched. Steve embodied everything we stand for as a club: friendship, community, kindness, and joy. He will be missed more than words can say.

We hope you’re enjoying a cup of tea up there, Steve.

We will never forget you, and Wigan Sports Club will never be quite the same without you.

Our thoughts, love, and deepest condolences are with Steve’s family and all those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. ❤️

It has been an honour to arrange the funeral of the late Stephen Gore who sadly passed away on 7th June 2026, aged 64 years.
The service will take place at Wigan Crematorium on Wednesday 1st July at 2pm.
Donations in memory of Stephen are being collected for Breast Cancer and British Heart Foundation.

Our sincere condolences go out to all his family and friends.

RIP Stephen.
