Let’s make tonight even bigger and better than the last!

It will also be a fantastic opportunity to meet our Australian visitors and hear what it’s like to officiate rugby league in Australia. The Wigan Rugby League Referees Society is proud to offer the unique Australian exchange programme – something no other referees’ society can offer. It could even be your chance to take part in the coming years!

Welcome to the UK Hayden and Luke. 1st stop initiation at moon underwater and a wetherspoons breakfast to start the day! Both shattered after a 24 hour flight but the trek to the toilet was morning tiring in their opinion 👀🤣

Our annual Australia referee exchange scheme in its third year looks forward to welcoming Luke and Hayden to these shores very shortly!

Just 10 days until our Wigan RL Referee's Society family race night. Let's see if we can make this one even better than the last one! It will also be an opportunity to meet our Australian visitors and find out what it is like to officiate over there. There is not another referee society that offers the Australian exchange. You might want to take part yourself in the next few years.

We dont often do this... But lets take a second to appreciate those men in the middle!
Todays Referee Lucas did an awesome job in the middle of our 2 Senior Academy games today!
We know - its not the knock ons or dropped ball or mistakes made by our/opposition players.. its always the refs fault hey?
No its not! Its those in the middle who let our great game go ahead.. so lets take a moment to thank those like Lucas who ensure our game flows and take a minute to think before commenting- our ref has parents too who are often stood on the sidelines beside you!
The easiest thing in the world is to blame an official when quite a lot of the time we all make mistakes which are overlooked!
Lets take a moment to Respect the Ref - after all without them there is no game!
