Our 9 year old goalkeeper Paisley has joined Matt and Alex on the sponsored bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool and is already halfway there. Raising money for our u10s Girls and it has now crossed £600.

Such a talented player, playing up a year against boys in the MYSL every week.

A massive well done to our u8 Athletic team today! After a busy end of season presentation the boys and coaches were straight off to the Hindley Juniors tournament. A tough battle in the semi final which went to penalties then a great final win to clinch the trophy against some tough teams.

Well done players and coaches from everyone at Hindley Green FC.

The girls only went and did it! So proud of them. The trophy wasn’t just for today’s mammoth effort, it was for a season of hard work, dedication, grit, time and travel put in by the girls and parents. These girls turn up early for training every single week without fail no matter the weather. They’re seriously dedicated and put the effort in away from Hindley Green too. We’re no strangers to top female football stars here in Wigan Borough, and it looks like we could have some future Ella Toones on our hands over at Hindley Green FC too. ⚽✨

Last year, the club's Under 8s Girls marked their very first season in the Manchester Youth Super League by getting all the way to the League Cup Final.

While the final itself didn’t go their way (a narrow 2-1 defeat), it was a fabulous achievement competing against boys their own age and led to them being recognised as a Finalist at our Be Well Wigan Believe Sports Awards. 🙌

Well, this year as Under 9s they’re at it again…

Just like last season, they’ve reached the final without losing a match in the group stages and are now hoping to go one better and lift the cup! 🏆

This time they’ll be taking on Prestwich United U9s Dragons at Fleetwood Town’s Poolfoot Farm training base on Saturday 30 May.

Chris Plimley, a coach and committee member at the club, said: “We’re hugely proud of what the girls have achieved together. 😊

“They’re a great group of dedicated footballers competing and the only all-girls side in their division.

“We’re incredibly proud of them reaching the champions final for a second year in a row, without losing a game. We’re hoping this year they can go one step further and win the trophy!”

Congratulations to the girls on making yet another final, and good luck for the big decider next month. 🤞
