Alongside the football, our off-the-field topic — a Sugar Quiz — helping players understand more about the foods and drinks they consume and the impact of sugar.

A brilliant few weeks of football, learning, competition and plenty of fun. 👏🏽

Summer Camp 2026 ⚽️

Week 3 on Camp ✅⚽️

A very tired group of players… and coach… come 2pm! 😂

Another brilliant day on camp, with a huge push on ball mastery and individual time on the ball during the morning.

We transitioned from Foot Tennis ➡️ Handball ➡️ Football, allowing the players to constantly adapt, communicate and make decisions in different game environments.

This week we’ve also introduced a focus around nutrition and reducing sugars, helping the players understand how what we put into our bodies can impact energy, concentration and performance.

Then came the afternoon favourite… FOOT GOLF! ⛳️⚽️

A chance to step away from the usual 1v1s, attacking vs defending and transition-based games, with more tailored activities designed around engagement, enjoyment and having a laugh with teammates.

Another full day in the bank. ⚽️

Our Christmas Festival is coming this December/January, with age groups from U10s through to U16s taking to the pitch for a fantastic festive football experience! 🎅🏽🏆

SUMMER 2026 — THAT’S A WRAP. 🌞⚽️

From an Open Grassroots Festival to Invite Only Academies, Districts, Counties & Private Academies…

1,500 GIRL FOOTBALLERS through the doors at Leisure United William Fosters 👏🏽

A Double Weekender we’ll remember — from the early mornings to the LATE nights, it’s been some journey.

A huge thank you to each and every club, coach, player, parent, referee and volunteer who helped make Summer 2026 so special.

We sit back, take a breath… and prepare for what’s next. 👀

🏆 U14s Champions — AFC Fylde

A fantastic club with a strong pathway from Junior Football through to the First Team.

Congratulations to all involved — fully deserved! 👏🏽

Summer 2026. Complete. ✅

Focuses now turn to wigan.girls.football.league Season 3
Continuing the push of WSG Programme wigansfa along with a first full season with Greater Manchester County Schools FA - Girls and with Wigan Futsal Collective keeping on pushing forward in the offering of futsal locally! And we may have some other big plans in the Female Game!

And to wrap up our 12–13 hour day onsite! 😮‍💨⚽️

A huge thank you to the parents from our U15s clubs, who were incredibly patient and supportive throughout the day. As always with festivals, the plan rarely survives contact with the pitch! 😂

Adaptations on the day were absolutely key, and we executed them brilliantly to keep everything moving and ensure the players continued to get the experience they deserved.

A massive shoutout to our referees too, who pushed through an incredibly long day with a fantastic attitude from start to finish. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again for another 5 hours tomorrow! 😂👏🏽

Another long, busy and rewarding day of Girls Football completed.

Now onto the U14s Invite Only Event tomorrow… and then..

One that will go down in history as our longest tournament to date — 7 hours of football, huge competition and quality right throughout! ⚽️👏🏽

Not only did they arrive in style, but what a fantastic group of players, parents and staff. Polite, respectful, friendly and a real credit to their club from start to finish. A thoroughly deserved title! 👏🏽

Another brilliant showing from Liverpool, with a positive relationship between our programmes continuing to strengthen every season. ❤️

CONFERENCE — Ferdinand Collective
What a group! They brought fantastic energy, attitude and competitiveness throughout the day. 👏🏽

Congratulations to Kilmarnock on taking home the Plate after a brilliant day’s football! 👏🏽

A huge thank you to every club who travelled, competed and contributed to what was a massive U12 category.

The standard, competitiveness and behaviour across the day was fantastic — exactly what we want these events to represent.

A fantastic day of football — and a brilliant advert for the next generation of the women’s game.

Weekend #2 lets go get it🤝⚽️

Smaller cohort on camp today and some seriously challenging weather for August, but that certainly didn’t stop us! 🌧️⚽️

The girls put in a brilliant 4-hour shift, showing fantastic energy and attitude from start to finish.

We kicked off with our arrival activator, progressing through 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 transition games, before moving into a series of shooting challenges. We also completed our Mindset Monitor task before refuelling at lunch.

The final 90 minutes was all about fun & more competition with Foot Golf and Foot Rounders to round off another successful day.

A fantastic group to work with once again. Their effort, positivity and willingness to learn never dropped despite the conditions. 👏

We’ll be back and ready to go again on 19th August! 😁⚽️

What a weekend! That’s now 70 teams through the gates and 1,000+ girls taking part across our third Summer Schedule. An incredible milestone and one we’re immensely proud of.

A huge thank you to the fantastic team at Leisure United, Fosters for once again supporting our biggest event to date. Your hard work behind the scenes never goes unnoticed.

To our referees – thank you. You put in a tremendous shift across the weekend, approached every game with professionalism, and created a positive environment that allowed our players to enjoy and develop through the game.

It was also brilliant to welcome our stall holders back. A special thank you to Nat for organising everything and helping enhance the event experience. We’ve got some exciting plans for the future, so watch this space!
