BOOK THE BLOODY THING. 😂

Sometimes “I really should…” just isn’t enough.

I should get fitter. I should get stronger. I should start running again. I should make more time for myself…

There’s always another Monday, another month, another “when life calms down a bit”.

Putting something in the diary that you actually have to show up for and suddenly you’ve got a reason to start.

And it doesn’t have to be a marathon or some enormous life-changing challenge either....apparently!? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤪

Book a weekly walk (after Wellbeing Wednesday😇) Enter the 10k. Sign up for the class. Arrange the weekend. Commit to the challenge. Tell your friends you’re doing it together!

Whatever gives YOU a little bit of purpose and something on the horizon to work towards.

Often the goal isn’t really the event at all.

It’s everything that happens to you between booking it and doing it. 💚

So tell me…

Have you already got something booked that you’re working towards? Tell us what it is! 👇Incase we get fomo and want to join you!

And if you haven’t, maybe this is your opportunity to say it out loud for the very first time…

What would you LOVE to book?

Pop it in the comments. No booking required ...yet 😂 just put it out there and let’s see what happens. 👀💚

And the winner is… SOUL CHOIR! 🎶😂

When I asked what I should yap about next, Soul Choir voted for themselves… and actually, they had a point.

Because the more I thought about it, the more I realised how much of my own self-care happens with other people.

I sing with Soul Choir.
I run at parkrun.
I get in a ridiculously cold sea with the Bubbletits Blue T**s 🥶
I move, meditate, walk and put the world to rights at Wellbeing Wednesday.

Would I sing as much on my own? Nope.
Would I voluntarily get in a freezing sea as often? Absolutely not. 😂
Would I run as regularly without parkrun? Also probably not.

There’s something about finding people who want to do the things that make you feel good too.

And actually, it's a huge part of why I created Vitality Rooms.

I didn't just want to give women workouts to follow. I wanted somewhere we could show up together, encourage each other, have a laugh and work towards feeling stronger, healthier and more fabulous as we get older.

Because doing the thing is great.

Doing the thing with your people is infinitely better. ❤️

So perhaps when we're thinking about our wellbeing, we need to stop only asking:

“What should I be doing?”

…and start asking:

“WHO could I be doing it with?”

Find your choir. Your swimmers. Your runners. Your movement people. Your tribe.

And if you're looking for your movement people… well, you know where I am... probably on stage singing with soul choir! 🤣

I'm sorry to break it to you but there is no magical moment when you suddenly feel READY to exercise.

A bit like having children. 😂

If a couple told a perimenopausal mother who'd already raised a family that they were just waiting until they felt completely ready to have children, I think we'd probably howl with laughter.

Because… ready?! What is this mythical unicorn moment you speak of?! 🦄😂

And I think exercise can be a bit like that.

“I'll start when life calms down.” “I'll come when I'm feeling a bit better.” “I need to get fit before I come to your class.”

🚨 That last one is possibly the quickest way to send me into a rage. 🤬

YOU DO NOT NEED TO GET FIT TO COME TO A FITNESS CLASS.

In fact, sometimes the days you feel least ready are the days moving your body gives you the most.

I watched that happen this week.

Someone came to class while having a really difficult time personally. She'd carved out this tiny bit of time for herself and, as the class went on, I literally watched her become lighter. She started smiling. For those 45 minutes, things felt a little bit better.

I've experienced it myself too.

When I was acutely anxious, there were times when the only place I felt remotely like myself was when I was running, exercising, teaching or moving my body.

Movement didn't magically make everything going on in my life disappear.

But for a while, it changed how I felt while I was carrying it.

Your body still needs to move. It needs to be strengthened. It needs to stretch. It needs to be challenged and looked after.

That doesn't have to look like my classes. Find something you enjoy. Walk. Dance. Lift weights. Do Pilates. Swim. Run. Whatever works for you.

But please don't spend your life waiting for this mythical moment when you finally feel “ready”.

Sometimes you don't move because you feel good.

Sometimes you move so that you can feel a little bit better. 💚

And if you're thinking you need to get fit before coming to one of my classes…

Don't make me come round there. 😂

The resistance bands came out for Wellbeing Wednesday this morning.

As always, we moved, we chatted and we laughed. We shared stories about husbands, children, pets, holidays and somehow ended up discussing the best way to absorb vitamin D… apparently “sunning yourself” means something VERY different to Gen Z! 😂 I am the only one who didn't know this?!

After Pilates and meditation we headed over to the Rural Retreat for 90 minutes of absolute bliss in the sauna, hot tub and ice bath.

Then finished the morning with a dirty oat matcha and an avo & halloumi bagel.

And now I feel much more equipped to deal with the world! 😂

Wednesday is my favourite day of the week. A bit of movement, a bit of calm, a bit of chatting and laughing and some time carved out of the week just for us.

💚 Wellbeing Wednesday happens every Wednesday morning.

And if you fancy the full mini midweek retreat experience, our next one is Wednesday 7th October — Pilates, meditation followed by 90 minutes at the Rural Retreat. DM me for the booking link.

Come and join us 💚

Day 2 of the Yapping Challenge 😂

There isn’t really a Yapping Challenge per se… however, it feels like a great excuse to chat to you!

This yap was prompted by a quote I shared recently:

“If you’re 40 and can fit into a size 6 dress, but when you’re 65 you have osteoporosis — you haven’t won, you’ve been tricked.”

OOOF.

Whenever I start feeling negative about the difference between my actual body fat percentage and where I’d like it to be, AKA when I can’t get my bloody jeans on comfortably 😩 I have to remind myself just how INCREDIBLE my body is and everything it allows me to do.

Because my idea of what my body “should” look like hasn’t appeared from nowhere.

It’s the result of decades of subconscious programming about what women’s bodies should look like, how much space we should take up and what we should be doing to make ourselves smaller.

And there is still this dance between knowing all of that… and looking in the mirror or trying to do my jeans up and thinking, FFS. 😂

But I REFUSE to be drawn back into that old-fashioned narrative.

Calories in, calories out.
Killing myself with cardio.
Restriction.
Shaming an entire food group.
Or falling foul of the latest marketing or corporate wellness trend that promises us the answer but might not actually be good for us at all.

Instead, I’m going to keep prioritising nutrition, muscle, strength and movement, and keep learning from the evidence we now have specifically around women in midlife.

I don't just want a body that looks a certain way.

I want a body that is strong enough to carry me through the next 5 DECADES of my life. ❤️

And when the jeans are tight, I’ll probably still have to remind myself of that!

Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this?!

Yap back in the comments 👇😂

Polly Lavarello laid down a challenge to create a yapping reel every day in September.

Apparently, I’m pretty good at recording the videos… but not so much in love with editing them and actually posting them to you. You can make your own conclusions about that!!!! 😂

Anyhoo, here is my first offering from the 1st, and I WILL continue to catch up!

I’d love to know…
🤔Do you recognise yourself in any of these stories?
🤔What do you do to support yourself when you can?
🤔What promises would you like to keep to yourself that you’re not keeping at the moment?
Tell me in the comments below 👇

I’m doing another run-through of Magic Morning starting the week of the 14th in Vitality Rooms.
We’ll meet at 6am on Zoom for 15 mins of Pilates and 15 mins of meditation, and then you can head off into your day with the best foundations a day could have. ❤️

I also have 3 spaces opening up in October for 1:1 wellbeing coaching, so DM me if you’d like more information about either of these.

Keep an eye out for my yapping reels and PLEASE yap back! It’s no fun talking to myself. 😂

And share this with anyone else who needs to hear it.

Big love xx

Episode 129 : What If Your Soul Already Knows? with Kelly Pietrangeli

If you've ever looked at your life and thought...

*"Everything's fine... so why doesn't it feel like it?"*

This episode is for you.

Our guest, the fabulous Kelly Pietrangeli, is the founder of Project Me, a wellbeing coach, retreat host in Ibiza and Soul Plan practitioner. More importantly, she's someone who's walked the path from feeling overwhelmed and disconnected to creating a life that feels aligned, purposeful and joyful.

Together, we explore the questions so many midlife women quietly ask themselves...

✨ Why do I feel like I've lost myself?
✨ Why am I constantly comparing myself to everyone else?
✨ How do I find more balance when life feels so full?
✨ How do I know what I actually want anymore?
✨ And where do I even begin?

Kelly shares the simple but powerful tools that helped her reconnect with herself, from her Project Me Life Wheel and journalling to protecting your energy, building healthier habits and learning to trust your own inner wisdom.

We also chat about strength training, protein, creatine, osteoporosis, meditation, breathwork and why looking after your wellbeing doesn't have to mean turning your whole life upside down.

This conversation isn't about becoming someone different.

It's about finding your way back to the person you already are.

✨ Wellbeing Wednesday... with a little extra bliss.

If you're the woman who's always looking after everyone else, always rushing from one thing to the next and can't remember the last time you took a whole morning just for you...
This is for you.

In fact, if you're already thinking...
"I don't deserve that."
"I haven't got time."
"I haven't earned it."..then this is definitely for you. 💚

We'll begin with our usual Wellbeing Wednesday - outdoor Pilates, meditation, fresh air and a wonderful community of women.
Then we'll wander over to The Rural Retreat where you'll have full access to the wood-fired sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, ice bath and relaxation area.
Take your time. Move between the different spaces, relax, chat and connect with the other fabulous ladies, and simply enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.

Then, if you'd like to make a proper morning of it, come and join me at Tribe Café afterwards. I'll be staying for lunch, and I'd love for you to stay too. Whether it's a coffee, an iced matcha or something to eat, it's the perfect way to round off a morning spent looking after yourself.

You'll leave feeling calmer, lighter, stronger and more energised... with that wonderful feeling that comes from giving yourself the time and space you deserve.

The complete morning is £45 (refreshments not included).

💗 If you'd like to join us for Wellbeing Wednesday, simply comment or send me a DM with WELLBEING WEDNESDAY and I'll send you everything you need.

🌿 If you'd like to join us for the Mini Retreat too, comment or DM me MIDWEEK RETREAT and I'll send you the booking link.

Because you don't have to earn a beautiful Wednesday morning...
You are worthy of one. 💚
