🚨 THE BATTLE OF THE BAY IS BACK! 🏆🏰🏒

Less than 72 hours to go! Last year’s tournament was such an absolute hit that we are doing it all over again.

This Sunday, 12th July, five local teams from the Bay are taking over Whitley Bay Ice Rink to battle it out on the ice for the ultimate Whitley Cup!

Best of all? We are playing for a fantastic cause. All proceeds from the tournament are going directly to "James' Place", a charity incredibly close to many players' hearts that supports men's mental health. ❤️🧠

WHAT A WEEKEND IN LEEDS! 🃏🚌🏒

The tent's are away and bags are unpacked, the bruises are setting in, and the caffine is flowing. What an absolutely jam-packed, unforgettable weekend down the A1 at the Leeds Lightning Ice Hockey Invitational Tournament! Our players put in a monumental shift every single game, playing some brilliant, high-tempo hockey from the first whistle to the last.

Here is how our tournament unfolded:

🏒 DAY 1: SATURDAY ADVANTAGE
We kicked off Group A action in style before battling hard to secure a spot in the knockouts:

Game 1: 🆚 Sheffield Ice Tigers IHC | 3-0 WIN! 🚨 A perfect, clean-sheet start to get the momentum going.
Game 2: 🆚 Bristol Pirates | 2-0 LOSS. A tough, close battle against a very strong side.
Game 3: 🆚 Kingston Reapers | 8-2 WIN! 🔥 The goals were flying as we closed out Saturday in style, locking in 2nd place in Group A right behind the Pirates!

🏆 DAY 2: THE KNOCKOUT STAGES
Group Finale: 🆚 Pollington Nomads | 6-1 WIN! 🏒 Another clinical performance to send us flying into the playoff rounds.

Quarter Final: 🆚 Whitley Bay Islanders | 1-0 LOSS. 💔 A local derby for the ages. It was a heartbreakingly close, end-to-end battle, but the Islanders just managed to edge us out.
