Did you know your nervous system can have a huge impact on how your body feels.
Sometimes people come in for treatment thinking their muscles are just 'tight', there can be more to it.
One thing I notice during treatment is how much tension peeps hold without even realising it. I can feel muscles that are guarding or working harder then they need to. That doesn't automatically mean that you are stressed, but it is something I commonly see when the nervous system has been under increased physical or emotional load.
Treatment isn't just about working on muscles. It's about helping reduce unnecessary muscle guarding, improving movement and supporting your body to recover.
Sometimes, its not just your muscles that need attention, your nervous system does too.
Peeps, if this sounds familiar, please get in touch. 👐

Have you had an injury that's been hanging around longer than expected?
Have you received a diagnosis and been directed to an exercise programme, but you are unsure how to progress, adapt or build on those exercises as your recovery continues?
Or maybe you've been doing all the right things, but your symptoms don't seem to be improving as much as you'd hoped?
Sports massage and soft tissue therapy can help reduce pain, improve movement, address compensatory tension patterns and support the healing process, however, treatment is often only part of the recovery journey.
We are seeing an increased amount of peeps who have been directed to websites and asked to choose from a selection of exercises, but feel they are not progressing with the recovery journey, if this sounds familiar, we are here to help.
We provide personalised rehabilitation plans, helping you understand what exercises are most appropriate for your stage of recovery, helping you to progress safely, aiming to work towards your individual goals.
Recovery can be frustrating, it isn't always straightforward, a tailored approach can make the difference between managing an injury and making meaningful progress.
If you are feeling stuck with an injury and not seeing the progress you'd hoped for, please get in touch to discuss how treatment and rehab may help you move forward.

Waking up stiff?
Shoulders tight for no reason?
Hips grumpy?
Hands sore in the morning?
More muscle pain after workouts than you used to get?
If you're in your 40's, 50's or beyond and noticing more stiffness, niggles or deep muscular aches - you're not imagining it.
So why do you feel achy?
Hormonal shifts (particularly fluctuating and declining oestrogen) don't just affect mood and sleep, they influence joints, connective tissue, pain sensitivity, recovery and how your nervous system processes pain.
The result? Your body can feel very different to how it did a few years ago.
You're not 'falling apart'', your body is adapting.
So how can massage help?
* Reducing muscle tension
* Supporting circulation
* Easing joint stiffness
* Calming an overactive nervous system
* Improving recovery
* Helping you sleep more deeply
If your aches and pains feel new harder to shift.... it might be time to work with your body not against it.
