After a wonderful end to the regatta season, we say a sad farewell to Clive Capel after 23 years of coaching.
Clive started at the club in 2003 as a parent helper. Having never rowed before, it was a huge step into the unknown for him. He did a 'learn to row' and continued to practice on the job.
In the time he's been at the club, he's coached hundreds (if not thousands) of kids and changed their lives for the better. In his tenure, he's coached a number of athletes who went onto the highest level of rowing.
While im sure this is "au revoir" rather than "goodbye", we're still sad to see him go. We wish Clive all the best in his well earned retirement.
Many thanks to for the wonderfully presented model blades.

Wow, how time flies... already time for Henley!
Well, we had a great time at Henley qualifiers on 28/06/25. All our crews jumped at the chance to race at the most famous rowing event in the calendar and thrived.
While we may not have qualified, the experience we gained was huge, and we'll certainly be coming back for more... faster and stronger than ever.
