We keep getting asked WHY ! Do we need our wheel bearings greased ‘Every Year’ ?? ‘Preventive Maintenance’ Is the phrase that sums this up. Bearings require lubrication to move freely and move with as less friction as possible. When your bike is being used the grease warms up and is distributed around all the moving parts of the bearing, but sometimes said grease, works it way outside of the bearing and then is no longer doing it’s thing. Also when not in use for a length of time the grease eventually goes so hard that the heat from the rotation won’t soften up the grease enough to do it’s thing. Then the bearings runs dry causing the bearings to wear and can damage the bearing cups built into the wheel hub and will will then require a new wheel at great cost. Our wheel bearing service for both wheels cost just £30.
Average cost of 1 wheel would be £75 fitted.
