VERTICE RACING β PUBLIC STATEMENT
Vertice Racing has recently been made aware that serious and completely misleading rumours are being circulated within the karting community regarding the team and individuals who have previously been associated with us.
Because safeguarding is something we take extremely seriously, we feel it is important to clarify our position without naming individuals or discussing private details unnecessarily.
Over the past few years, concerns have on occasion been brought to our attention regarding the conduct of individual drivers. Whenever that has happened, our approach has been consistent: take the concern seriously, act immediately, seek appropriate advice and put the safety of young people first.
Where concerns were considered serious enough, information was reported to the police and/or relevant karting organisations. Individuals have also been removed or suspended from Vertice Racing while matters were being clarified. We have never attempted to hide, dismiss or minimise safeguarding concerns simply because somebody was associated with our team.
Importantly, allegations concerning an individual should not be twisted into allegations against Vertice Racing as an organisation. Claims currently being repeated suggesting that multiple Vertice Racing members have been arrested are not true.
In fact, the actions taken by Vertice Racing demonstrate the opposite of what is now being suggested. When concerns have arisen, we have been the people reporting them, sharing relevant information with appropriate organisations and taking precautionary action where necessary.
Vertice Racing includes adults, teenagers and families, and we recognise the responsibility that comes with creating an environment in which younger drivers participate. Safeguarding will always come before results, friendships, reputation or racing.
We deliberately will not enter into public discussion about the identities of people involved, unproven allegations or private safeguarding information. That would be irresponsible and potentially damaging to everyone concerned.
However, describing Vertice Racing in deeply offensive terms or spreading false claims that members have been arrested crosses a very different line. We therefore ask people within the karting community not to repeat rumours as fact and, if anyone genuinely has a safeguarding concern, to report it properly rather than circulate it around paddocks or social media.
Our position remains simple:
Protect young drivers.
Take concerns seriously.
Report them appropriately.
Act when necessary.
Do not turn safeguarding into gossip.
We are proud of the young people, parents, drivers and volunteers associated with Vertice Racing and will continue doing everything reasonably possible to provide them with a safe and supportive environment.
