⛑️ 10 members of LCC completed their 16 hour Outdoor First Aid course this weekend !

Huge thanks to Jane McCabe for delivering such a fun and engaging course.

It was great to practice these skills, tips and tricks, to give us all more confidence should we ever need to use them.

Also lovely to meet a few folk from Halifax Canoe Club! 🛶 Thanks for a great weekend all 🙏

Across the weekend we conquered the lower Tryweryn and Bala Mill Falls, moving on to getting to know the upper graveyard 🪦 to absolutely styling it across the upper T!

Incredibly proud of everyone for trying new things, and for the super community vibes everyone brought to the weekend 🌟 our leaders and coaches offered incredible support, and such a great environment for development 💪

It was great to have so many of the local community getting out on the water with us. We had over 200 people join us on the river throughout the day! 🥳

Enormous thank you to all of the volunteers who made it happen too!! Everyone put in a great shift, but it was 100% worthwhile 🌟

Keep cool and come join us on the water this week! ☀️💦

We’ll be on the river Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and at the pool on Wednesday, so come join us and escape the heat!

Despite it raining all week?!? River levels were pretty low this weekend, so 13 of us made the most of the low levels to enjoy a sunshine paddle in Sowerby Bridge ☀️ some of us even wore a shorty cag 🤭
We paddled up the canal, had a bit of chill time, then paddled down the river to the white water course 🌊
While we weren’t blessed with levels, we were blessed with determination to have a good time 😂 waves were surfed, practice rolls were had, and even some tailees! Was great to see so many people trying new things on the water 🙏 thanks for a great day out everyone!

We went canoeing! 🛶

Huge thanks to Dave Carthy for teaching a few of us the basics of open boat canoeing! It was a bit of a challenge paddling against the wind 💨 but so interesting to learn new techniques, and also the crossovers with kayaking. We learnt many of the basic strokes in just one session! Dave deserves a medal for wrangling us together when losing our battle with the wind 😂🏅

Great to see a whole group of people enjoying our local river, with our usual evening paddle and some kayak coaching going on too! Come join us if you fancy a nice evening on the river 🦦☀️

🛶 Join Dave for an introduction to open boat canoeing. Dave will help you launch the boats, and give you tips and tricks to steer your canoe with confidence.

🛶 Boats, paddles and bouyancy aids provided. Just bring clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit wet!
