Congratulations to Graham Ellis from our Senior Section on achieving a fantastic hole in one yesterday! ⛳🎉

Graham aced the 11th hole, marking the very first hole in one of his golfing career. When he came into the clubhouse to share the news, he summed it up perfectly...

“Better late than never!”

A brilliant achievement and one to remember. Well done, Graham!

If you haven’t been up the golf course this week, here are a few pictures of what we’ve been getting up to.

We’ve been working on making our ponds deeper to increase our reserve water capacity. 💧

At the moment, they’re looking very dry and empty due to the prolonged dry weather, but hopefully, over the next few months, we’ll see them start to fill up again. 🤞💦

It’s all part of keeping the course prepared and making the most of our water resources 😊

An incredible £6,239 raised at this year’s Wanners Golf Day! ⛳️

Earlier this summer, we were proud to once again host the Wanners Golf Day here at Welshpool Golf Club, and we’re delighted to share that this year’s event raised an amazing £6,239!

The day brought together golfers, friends, family and supporters in memory of Wanners, with the money raised helping to support the football playing fields named in his honour and continue his lasting legacy within the community.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who played, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, took part in the auction, attended on the day or helped behind the scenes to make the event such a success.

The Evans family have asked us to pass on their heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. They continue to be incredibly touched by the generosity, friendship and support shown year after year.

It was a real pleasure for the team at Welshpool Golf Club to host the day once again, and congratulations to everyone involved in raising such a fantastic total ❤️

Perfect for carrying your clubs, drinks, snacks… and of course, giving your legs a well-earned rest!

URGENT SAFETY UPDATE FROM WELSHPOOL GOLF CLUB 🚫☀️

We know how much our members and visitors care about the course, and with the current exceptionally dry conditions, we’re asking everyone to help us look after it.

The ground is extremely dry at the moment and the risk of fire is very real, so with immediate effect the following rules apply to all members and visitors:

🚫 Total Smoking & Va**ng Ban: Smoking and va**ng are not permitted anywhere on the golf course. Please keep this strictly to the designated area on the clubhouse patio.

🗑️ Litter Control (No Glass): Please use the bins provided and do not leave any rubbish on the course. Glass bottles should not be taken onto the course, as discarded glass can present an additional fire and safety risk in hot, dry conditions.

We ask all members and visitors to take extra care while these conditions continue and help us protect the course, our neighbours and our surrounding community.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the J S Williams Trophy over the weekend, the results are in! ⛳

A special well done to this year’s winners, Richard Carter & Mark B Williams, who claimed the trophy with an impressive 133 points (58 & 75). A fantastic performance from both.

Congratulations also to Jamie Evans & Robert Beech, who qualified for the Daily Mail Foursomes on Saturday 9th August with an excellent 71 points.

Well played to everyone who competed, and the very best of luck to Jamie and Robert in the next stage! 💙🏌️‍♂️
