Brundall Bolts 2–2 Watton Junior FC U13s

Watton Junior U13s travelled to face Brundall Bolts in wet conditions, with rain falling throughout the game.

The quick surface of the 4G pitch allowed both teams to move the ball around nicely, but it was Watton who took command early on, taking the game to Brundall and deservedly heading into half-time with a two-goal lead.

With the rain easing slightly, the second half proved to be a much tighter affair, with few chances for either side. However, against the run of play, Brundall managed to pull a goal back.

Watton were soon on the back foot and defended relentlessly as Brundall, buoyed by their goal, pushed forward in wave after wave of attacks. Eventually, Watton succumbed to the pressure and Brundall found the equaliser.

But Watton were not beaten. They responded brilliantly and looked to regain the initiative. A foul on a Watton midfielder was waved play on by the referee, and when the ball went out for a Watton throw, they reacted quickly.

The throw was taken immediately, allowing the Watton winger to race towards the box before drilling a shot that beat the keeper at his near post. Unfortunately, the celebrations were short-lived as the goal was disallowed.

Despite the late drama, both sides had to settle for a share of the points.

Final Score: Brundall Bolts 2–2 Watton Juniors U13s

A battling performance from Watton, who showed great resilience to withstand Brundall’s second-half pressure and continued to fight right until the final whistle.

⚽️ U9 Gunners – A New Season Begins! ⚽️

Our Under 9 Gunners welcomed Wroxham United to Watton Sports Centre for their opening game of a brand-new grassroots football season.

With the pitches freshly cut and everyone well recovered after a glorious summer, both teams were excited from the first whistle to see what they could achieve this season.

🔥 Goals – Both teams found the net with some fantastic goals, showing great attacking intent.

🔄 Passing – The Gunners put together some excellent passing sequences, moving the ball with confidence and creating some great opportunities.

💪 Defending – A clean and enjoyable game, but still full of competitive tackles, determination and some great defensive work from both sides.

It was a fantastic, entertaining game of football, played in exactly the spirit grassroots football should be at this age.

At Under 9s, the result is only a small part of the game. It’s about learning, developing key skills, building confidence, showing determination and, most importantly, enjoying the game.

There’s plenty for both teams to be proud of, and we’re looking forward to seeing how these young players develop throughout the season. 👏⚽️

⚽ Watton U13s hit 6 in thriller! 🔥

Our Under 13s made the long trip to Madra for their opening game of the season — and what a game it turned out to be!

With two new signings joining the squad, Watton started brightly, looking comfortable on the ball and moving it around nicely. However, a quick counter-attack saw Madra take an early 1-0 lead.

Determined and with their tails up, Watton responded brilliantly, taking the game to Madra and scoring three goals before the break to head into half-time with a deserved 3-1 lead.

After the break, the goals kept coming from both sides in an action-packed second half. Watton continued to show plenty of character, but a late Madra goal made it 6-5, setting up a nervy finish.

With pressure mounting in the closing minutes, the Watton boys dug deep, kept their cool and defended brilliantly to see out the game and secure a fantastic 6-5 opening-day victory! 👏🔥

A brilliant start to the season — well done, lads! 💪⚽

The wait is over… it’s time to lace up those boots, pull on the shirts and get ready for another exciting season of football! 🙌

To all our WJFC junior players, whether this is your very first season stepping onto the pitch on a Saturday morning, or you’re an Under 18 player approaching the final chapter of your junior football journey — welcome back! 👏

For some, it will be the beginning of a football journey filled with new friends, new experiences, big smiles and plenty of muddy boots! 🥰⚽

For our Under 18s, this season could be particularly special. For some, it may be the end of their junior football journey as they look towards the exciting challenge of lacing up their boots for their first senior game in open-age football. What an achievement that will be! 💚

And for all those age groups in between, there are new goals to chase and new memories waiting to be made.

Maybe it’s scoring your first-ever goal… ⚽
Making that all-important save… 🧤
Saving a penalty… 🧤🔥
Whipping in a perfect corner in the final seconds that leads to a last-minute winner… 🏆
Or simply becoming a better player, teammate and person.

Whatever your goal is this season, believe in yourself.
