Could your little one be ready for their first ballet class? 🩰💜

Our Melody Bear Ballet class for 3–4 year olds is a lovely introduction to ballet, combining music, movement, imagination and, of course, lots of fun with Melody Bear! 🧸

It’s perfect for little ones who are completely new to dance — there’s no previous experience needed.

We learn some of the very first ballet positions and movements, but there’s lots of imagination and play woven into the class too.

“My child has never danced before…”

I hear this quite a lot from parents, and honestly? That’s absolutely fine. 💜

Every dancer has to have a first class.

Your child doesn’t need to know the steps already. They don’t need to be naturally confident. They don’t need to have been dancing for years.

They just need somewhere they can come along, have a go, make mistakes, have fun and gradually find their feet.

That’s something that’s really important to me at Dance ARC.

I want children to feel proud of themselves for having a go — whether they’re taking their very first steps in dance or have been dancing with me for years.

So if you’ve ever thought:

“I’d love to get my child into dance, but they’ve never done it before...”

I hope this is your sign that that’s completely okay. 💜

🩰 Reception Ballet Spotlight 🩰

Starting Reception is such a big step — and for many children, it’s also the perfect time to start learning ballet 💜

First Ballet with Melody Bear is our Reception-aged ballet class, where children begin to learn the foundations of ballet in a fun, friendly and encouraging environment.

This is where we start introducing more of the ballet basics — positions, steps, musicality and coordination — while keeping everything fun, friendly and encouraging. 💜

I also really want this class to help children grow in confidence and independence. They learn to listen, have a go, remember things for themselves and feel proud of what they can do.

And of course, there are opportunities to perform too! 🥰

There’s no pressure to be perfect and no competition with anyone else — just lots of encouragement, music, movement and fun. 💜

If your child is starting Reception this September and you’d love them to give ballet a try, First Ballet with Melody Bear could be the perfect place to start.

Did you miss us at Harlequin this week? 💜

I’m back at Harlequin Watford for the next two Tuesdays with fun dance sessions for little ones! 💃

🧸 10–11am – Toddler & Grown Up Dance
⚡ 11am–12pm – Mini Movers Dance for 5-6yrs

Just £3 per session, with proceeds going to Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust.

These two very special friends join us every week in our Melody Movement classes and are always ready for a new adventure!

Through music, movement, stories and lots of imagination, they help make every class fun, engaging and full of smiles. We dance, explore, pretend, play and learn together, all in a relaxed and encouraging environment where children can simply enjoy being themselves.

One of my favourite things is watching little ones arrive a little unsure and, before long, they’re chatting to Melody Bear, joining in with big smiles and looking forward to their next adventure.

I’m so excited that we’re launching NEW Friday Melody Movement classes this September, giving even more little ones the chance to discover the joy of dance.
