π My Rainbow of Energy book by Kristy Snyman is guiding us this week on the yoga classes
The story follows Hugo, whose act of kindness leads him on a magical adventure of self-discovery. Guided by Pushpa, he learns about the energy centres within us and explores simple yoga poses, breathing techniques and positive affirmations that help restore balance, confidence and inner calm.
This week's featured pose is Dragonfly Pose πͺ·
Dragonfly Pose helps to:
β¨ Stretch the thighs and hips
β¨ Strengthen the back muscles
β¨ Encourage relaxation and body awareness
β¨ Support digestion and may help ease tummy discomfort
Through movement, mindfulness and storytelling, weβll be exploring how our bodies hold energy and how yoga can help us feel calm, connected and strong.

π²π§ββοΈ Kids Yoga Dice this week = movement, mindfulness, and lots of fun!
Yoga games are a wonderful way to keep children engaged while building strength, balance, focus, and confidence. By rolling the yoga dice, children never know which pose or activity will come next, adding excitement, laughter, and a sense of adventure to every session.
Learning through play is one of the best ways for children to connect with yoga and enjoy moving their bodies.

πΏ This week we will go on imaginary yoga adventure with this lovely book Ommie and The Magical Garden by Sirkka Fisk.
The deep message of this book is when we care for ourselves, others, and nature, life becomes happier and more balanced. Through Ommieβs journey and the animal-inspired yoga poses, children learn several gentle life lessons:
β‘ Respect and kindness toward animals, people, and the environment
β‘ Mindfulness and calmness, helping children become more aware of their feelings and actions
β‘ Confidence and self-belief through trying new things and learning yoga
β‘ Looking after the world together, showing that everyone has a role in caring for nature
β‘ Inner peace and focus, encouraging children to slow down, breathe, and connect with themselves
π When we treat ourselves, others, and nature with love and respect, we help create a happier world.
π©· The story also uses yoga as a fun way to teach children that strength is not only physicalβit also comes from being calm, kind, and mindful.

π Ocean Kids Yoga classes this week
Tree-quarters of the Earth is covered by the ocean. It is in the ocean that the first organic life started (rain, oxygen, climate, salt, minerals etc.). We will remind ourselves to appreciate oceans and gifts that we receive from them.
We will go on an imaginary adventure to the oceans of this world. Our guide will be this amazing book "Yoga Animals at the seashore" by my yoga teacher Christiane Kerr & Jason Hook.
We will practise yoga poses to correspond with our theme, ocean breathing to release any tension and anxiety! We will relax at the end with an ocean guided relaxation to feel more calm and peaceful πββοΈ
π Sensations and feelings are like a waves in the ocean, some come crashing in, while others roll in gently, and they always come and go. We can't stop the waves from coming, but we can pay attention to them so they don't knock us over! πͺ
These will be some of the yoga poses we will practise:
β΅ Sailboat (Triangle Pose) - from a standing position, step one foot back, take your arms up parallel to the ground, bend at your waist, reach your front hand to gently rest on your shin, and reach your other arm straight up
π Surfboard (Plank Pose) - come down to a plank on your hands and toes as if youβre a surfboard
β΄ Ship (Boat Pose) - balance on your bottom with your legs up. Then rock in the water like a boat

In our kids yoga classes, we love using the Happy Drum π₯β¨
The calming sounds help children slow down, focus, and become more present in the moment. Playing the Happy Drum encourages mindfulness, deep listening, creativity, and emotional expression while creating a peaceful and joyful atmosphere.
Combined with yoga, breathing, and relaxation, it helps children feel calm, grounded, and connected ππ
Mindfulness through movement, music, and play π

πΏ Mental Health Awareness Week πΏ
This week in our kids yoga classes, our mindful activity will be creating positive affirmations β encouraging each child to say something kind and uplifting about themselves π
Weβll also explore heart-opening yoga poses such as Cobra Pose, Camel Pose, and Cat-Cow to help children connect with their feelings, build confidence, and release tension through movement and breath.
Simple yoga poses like Childβs Pose, Tree Pose, and Cat-Cow can support childrenβs mental wellbeing by helping to reduce stress, improve focus, and encourage emotional balance. Through breathing, movement, and playful imagination, yoga helps children feel calm, grounded, and connected to themselves.
