Youth Talent Programme - England Athletics The Youth Talent Programme is the first step on the talent pathway designed to meet the needs of identified, talented athletes aged 16 to18

Eight Warrington Athletic club athletes made the trip to Longford Stadium Trafford to compete in the Trafford Athletic Club Medal Meeting on Monday 31st August.

✨Lewis shaw continued his return from injury with a win in the 110 metres hurdles with another personal best time of 14.67 seconds.

✨Master athlete Julie Hicken ran in the 100 and 200 metres with 4th place in the 100 in 14.73 seconds and 2nd place in the 200 in 31.02 seconds.

✨Under 12 Leonard Broadhurst competed in three events, in the 75 metres he was 3rd in his race in 11.34 seconds, In the 600 metres he was again 3rd in a new personal best time of 1 minute 50.19 seconds and in the Long Jump he was 7th with a jump of 3.57 metres.

✨In the under 14 age group Bella Parkinson was 2nd in her 800 metres race with a new personal best time of 2 minutes 30.80 seconds.

✨In his 1500 metres under 14 Sebastian Hughes was 2nd with a time of 5 minutes 07.23 seconds.

✨ Under 14 Clement Leung competed in two jumps events finishing 3rd boy in his High Jump pool with a clearance of 1.40 metres placing him 2nd under 14 boy and in the long jump he was 5th in his pool with a jump of 4.50 metres placing him 3rd under 14 boy.

✨In the 400 metres Dan Richardson won with a time of 50.73 seconds

✨over 45 master athlete Anthony Stockton was 5th place in the 400metres with a time of 62.16 seconds.

Alex MacDonald took part in the 5km race at the Run Through Media City event held on Thursday 27th August finishing 2nd with a time of 16 minutes 37 seconds to win the over 40 age group.

Six Warrington Athletic club athletes took part in the Mid Cheshire 5 Kilometres road race on Friday 28th August at Kingsley with a large high class field competing.

Huge congratulations to 3 time winner Richard Allen who finished in a time of 13:59, who was presented with Nick Jones trophy - in memory of late Warrington AC athlete Nick Jones.

✨First to finish from Warrington AC was under 20 Tom Welsby in 152nd place with a time of 15 minutes 47 seconds placing him 24th under 21 man.

✨Next to finish was under 16 Grace Rashud making her debut on the road over the distance and finishing 629th overall with an excellent time of 18 minutes 54 seconds placing her 59th woman and 13th under 21 woman.

✨Under 16 Eddie Walker was next to finish in 693rd place with a time of 19 minutes 38 seconds having struggled from early in the race but refusing to give up.

✨Steve Bowden was next to finish in 954th place with a time of 23 minutes 36 seconds for 3rd place in the over 70 age group.

✨Linda Bowden finished 968th overall with a time of 24 minutes 06 seconds placing her 193rd woman and 10th over 55 woman.

✨Eddie's mother Georgina competing under her first claim club Lymm Runners finished in 957th place with atime of 23 minutes 13 seconds placing her 188th woman and 10th over 50 woman.
