Great first game for Hawks 💜

The girls played really well together considering they haven’t played/trained together. Final score 33 - 6 to Hawks!

Coaches player - Esmee played strongly at centre today, making some great interceptions and doing a brilliant job of moving the play forward.

Managers player - Lily played brilliantly in centre court today, darting in and out of space, showing great defensive work and making some fantastic interceptions to help move the play forward.

Players player - Isla played brilliantly at goal attack today, bringing high energy, finding great spaces and showing fantastic movement, finishing with an impressive 20 goals out of 33!

Well done Hawks 💜

Appleton Falcons vs Northwich Sapphires Ice

17-13 win

A really positive start to the season for this new Falcons team. Having previously never played as a team before they absolutely pulled it out the bag. They lost a bit of energy in the third quarter falling behind but with a rallying quarter time talk from Coach Carolyn the girls came back fighting, turning over the ball and taking the win!

Shout out to CP Lucy and PP Nell but also special mentions to Martha S and Poppy for stepping up in the shooting circle. Well played girls!

Appleton Firecrests v Hawks Tsunami

Brilliant start to the 9/10 league for Firecrests today 🔥. They dominated the game across the court and played with a lot of energy from start to finish.

The girls forced a lot of errors from the opposition, defensively they put a lot of pressure on them across the court and fought for every ball. Quick transitions into attack and fabulous work in and around the D meant the shooters could capitalise.

Great first game back against some new opposition for us. The girls went out hard taking a comfortable lead, keeping up momentum throughout the game.

With only 7 girls available the girls did well to maintain speed of play and keep unforced errors low.

OP Lily - ace movement in the dee and super shooting 👏

TM Freya - great defensive skills and strong movement up the mid court 💪

CP Edie - great pressure in the defensive dee and super attacking work when switched to WA 🤩

PP Minnie - great movements, connections moving the ball up the court and super shots 🔥

All the girls played fab today, great to see how much the girls were looking forward to being back on court 💜

Sparrowhawks 50 - 9 Northwich Stars

As a coach you never know how a team is going to return from 6wks off after being double winners.

We didn’t need to overly worry as we came right out of the blocks 12-0 first quarter. We played such controlled netball in transition today and gained so many intercepts from our zoning, that we stifled our opponents opportunities all game.

It turned out to be a comfortable victory for us but we earnt everything and deserved the scoreline as we kept our standards throughout the game. Well done to Grace (welcome Grace and family) making her debut for the team today following a summer move.

The girls picked up where they left off and delivered a great display to start the winter season as defending champs 💜

The girls got off to a soaring start today for their first appearance in purple.

A confident and assured performance from all individually leading to a great first team performance.

Some lovely passages of play end to end, resulting in a high scoring game. Great defensive pressure throughout and the shooters rewarded the hard work of defence and midcourt with confident and consistent shooting.

A big welcome to Daisy, Betsy and Amy who looked like they had always played with the girls, bringing their own individual sparkle and playing with power and confidence.

The accolades really could have gone to any of the girls today, a fantastic start to the season.
