SH PAC FC U11s
MYSL Championship

Squad: Archie (GK), Freddie, Louie, Jonny, Cruise, Hayden, Caleb, Luke and William.

What a morning of football from our U11s. Full of ideas, quality on the ball and a growing confidence that made this group a pleasure to watch.

Once the boys recognised that our route forward was to play THROUGH the opposition, the football really started to flow.

Not forcing passes into crowded areas, but finding the gaps between opponents, connecting with teammates and using those combinations to progress. Once that clicked, we looked unstoppable.

The important detail is that playing through takes more than a good pass. The player receiving needs support, the players around them need to create angles and everyone has to be ready for the next action.

Can we receive and turn? Can we combine with a teammate? Can we set the ball back to someone facing forward, then move beyond the pressure?

Those are the decisions we want our boys exploring. A short pass backwards can help us move forwards if it changes the angle and opens a route through. The direction of one pass matters less than what it allows us to do next.

We were not just keeping the ball. We were finding ways to make our possession count.

What pleased me most was the boys recognising the solution and then having the confidence to keep using it. That is a big part of their development: seeing what the game offers, making a decision and trusting themselves to carry it out.

From Archie in goal to the options ahead of him, we want everyone involved in that process. Showing for the ball, helping a teammate and moving again after the pass. Good football becomes much easier when the players connect.

A brilliant performance from all nine and plenty to carry into Friday training. We keep building on these moments, giving the boys more opportunities to find those connections for themselves.

Proud of this group. They gave us some lovely football to enjoy today.

FREDDIE | DEBUT MAN OF THE MATCH
Vulcan Scorpions U12s

Freddie wasted no time making his mark.

Technically excellent, sharp in his thinking and contributing right across the game. This was not about one standout moment, but the quality he brought to his performance as a whole.

There was real thought behind his football. His awareness helped him see the options, and his ability on the ball gave him the confidence to use them. A young player bringing ideas into the game, not simply waiting for it to happen around him.

That is exciting for us as coaches. Plenty of ability to nurture and a football brain ready to be challenged.

An excellent first appearance and a thoroughly deserved Man of the Match.

Well done, Freddie. Your Scorpions journey is off to a brilliant start.

CHULU | DEBUT MAN OF THE MATCH
Vulcan Scorpions U12s

What an introduction to the Scorpions.

An outstanding all-round performance from Chulu, bringing a sharp football brain and brilliant technical ability into his first appearance with the group.

The quality was in the decisions as much as the technique. Recognising his options, choosing his moments and playing with purpose. Having the ability is one thing; knowing when and how to use it is what makes that ability count.

Chulu brought both.

A performance that gave us so much to appreciate and plenty to look forward to as he settles into the team. A thoroughly deserved Man of the Match on his debut.

Well done, Chulu. Delighted to have you with us.

WJFL PREMIERSHIP
Vulcan Scorpions U12s vs Whiston Milan

Squad: Luca (GK), William, George, Dan, Aayan, Louie, Owen, Chulu, Caleb, Harry and Freddie.

There was good football from our Scorpions today, with passages of play that reminded us of the quality we have within this group. A challenging game, but plenty worth recognising beyond the result.

A special mention for Luca, who took the gloves with Max away. A different role and a big responsibility, stepping in to help his teammates. That contribution deserves just as much recognition as anything we coach with a football.

Credit to Whiston Milan for a strong performance. Games against good opposition give our boys the opportunity to test their football and give us, as coaches, a clearer picture of how to help them progress.

For us, the exciting part is building on the good play we already have.

A player checking their shoulder earlier can create more time for their next action. A teammate moving into a better supporting position can turn a difficult pass into a simple combination. A quick reaction when possession changes can help the whole team stay connected.

Small details, with a big influence on how confidently we can play.

That is where our work continues: helping the boys connect those actions and produce their good football more often. Not asking them to become different players, but giving them more ways to use the ability they already have.

There is room to try things here. Room to make mistakes, ask questions and have another go. We want our players looking forward to receiving the ball and enjoying the challenge of finding their own solutions.

One Saturday is part of their development, not a verdict on it.

Thank you to our families for backing the boys. We take the positives into training, keep building together and look forward to the next opportunity to play.

Proud to coach this group.
