Brace yourselves - EARLYBIRD Tickets for next years Dorset Bikefest will be going on SALE on 1st October at 9am - SO - if you're already wondering what the best possible Christmas Present you could get your other half / best mate / Dad / Son/Daughter / Anyone this year is - we have the answer for you.

Unknown Unknowns!
Donald Rumsfelt got a lot of stick for his speech on what people know they know and what they know they don’t know; but it’s the things we don’t know that we don’t know that are the issue. But he nailed it with regards why experienced motorcyclists crash. There is knowledge and riding skills that we can equip motorcyclists with, that will help to prevent them from being involved in a motorcycle collision, but we have to engage with them first to make them aware of the unknown unknowns first and that’s where the DocBike comes into its element.

Being a Doctor or Paramedic emergency motorcycle and especially when associated with the local air ambulance service, acts as a real draw for motorcyclists to come and chat, find out more and support the DocBike in their area. By getting involved with the charity, they support its values and help to change the culture of riding in their area to that of bikers who know how to handle their bikes, have fun, but also know how to avoid being in a bike crash.

The Dorset Bikefest team are having a post event pow wow next week...give us your top bits of feedback please - what you loved (or didn't love) about our fabulous festival in June.
Tell us what you want to see next year and we will be taking it all onboard and having a good chin wag about it...we'll also be releasing the dates for next year NEXT WEEK!! 😊 🏍🏍🏍

This afternoon whilst on duty, one of our South area volunteers walked away unhurt when the blood bike he was riding caught fire.

Thanks to his quick actions when he first saw smoke rising from the bike, our volunteer quickly pulled over and got off of the bike and not only that, he was also quick thinking enough to remove the consignment he was carrying. Shortly after that the bike was engulfed in flames.

Our volunteer's safety is paramount to us and we are beyond relieved that he is home safe and well. We are also very grateful that his quick thinking in retrieving the consignments on board, meant another volunteer could collect the items and delivered them safely to their intended destination.

Our volunteer would like to say thank you to the members of the public who stopped to make sure he was ok, and to offer support and refreshments before the fire brigade and some of our fellow colleagues arrived. 🙏🙏
