Despite the efforts of UTAG for the past 15 years, we have been unable to get the buy in from MCC or Sustrans to develop the cycletrack / footpath from Usk to Little Mill along the old railway line.
It has been a long slog but needs new energy to take this further and to try and secure prioritisation and funding.
If anyone would like to pick up the challenge, please message UTAG and we can share what has been done so far and what may be needed to deliver what would be a great route linking communities to other cycle tracks and public transport hubs and benefit Usk and surrounding residents, businesses and visitors to the area.

Enhancing Usk - Your Town Centre, Your Say 14/05/2026

Monmouthshire County Council and Usk Town Council are working together on proposals to enhance key areas of Bridge Street and Twyn Square, with the aim of creating a safer, more welcoming, and more vibrant town centre that supports local businesses and community life.

This is your opportunity to shape those plans. Whether you feel positive about the proposals or have concerns, tell us what you like or dislike. It’s vital that your views are heard so we can ensure the final design reflects the needs and character of our community and this drop in session allows you to see the designs and ask questions to the officers and consultants.

You can view the proposals and share your feedback here, this goes live on Friday : https://www.letstalkmonmouthshire.co.uk/usk-your-town-centre-your-say

The online consultation is open until Sunday 7 June 2026, so please take a few minutes to share your views—whether positive or more constructive. I’d also encourage you to spread the word and invite friends, relatives and neighbours to drop in to The Grange this Friday and Saturday to see the designs for themselves.
