Food for thoughts 💭🍓🍰🥦
The answer to our question? Well there’s no right answer! What you should eat is what you ENJOY.
That being said, of course eating what you enjoy may need some consideration:
Depending on the results you desire, you may need to consider how much protein/ carbohydrates/ healthy fats are in your diet, however unless you’re training for a specific event or competition, a balanced meal is a good start.
Making healthy decisions when it comes to food can be a challenge, but we’re here to help- check out our other posts for recipe inspo! 😋
Here at Pod, we go by the fact that everyone deserves to live their life unrestricted. Food is for enjoyment, and we LOVEEE our food! Our coaches have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to nutrition and can guide you on the right steps to achieve your results, just ask!
Join our community of group personal training sessions and ask away your food questions to our trainers! 👌💪

‘I need to get back into it, I’ve really let myself go on holiday’
Is this something you have said in the last few weeks? Or is it something you will be saying once you’re back from your well earned break?
We hear this a lot from clients and we see how hard they can be on themselves.
Of course we are so happy to see you all back in the park and online again. But you are also allowed to ‘let yourself go’ on holiday.
Think of it as recharging your batteries so you can take on the difficult tasks of daily life again.
You pick your exercise journey up where you left it but with a well rested mind and a nourished body with all the energy!

Feeling stressed is something we all can relate to at times 🧠🌿🤕 so we want to share our honest approach to how to deal with the sense of feeling stressed 😰 and how to bring ourselves back up to feeling in control and positive 🧘♀️✅
First things first, what’s important to remember is there are things that happen that we cannot control. We can only control situations through our actions and our words. Good things happen, but so do bad things and something we CAN control is how we act when something bad happens. If this is something you’re feeling currently, maybe ask yourself these questions:
🌿 can you change what has happened?
🌿 how has it made you feel?
🌿 is there anything you can learn from it?
🌿 what can you do going forward?
At the end of the day, if something is causing you stress that can be changed, whether it’s taking action, changing direction in the way you thought you were going, acting upon things differently… whatever it may be that could be in your control then TAKE CONTROL. You can have the power to bring yourself up and make your life easier by making a positive decision 💗
If the stress is coming from a place where it is impossible for you to have any control over the outcome, acceptance is all you can do. Learn from what has happened, accept that you cannot change the situation and stay smiling because you will be okay! Be grateful for everything you have and look on the bright side, there’s always a positive to a negative situation, find it and hold on to it 😌💗🌿
Hope this helps! We will always be here for our members what ever stressful situations may come into place, we will be your friend, support bubble and do everything we can to help bring you back to feeling happy and positive (including chasing those post workout endorphins! 💪) YOU’VE GOT THIS.

We don’t just exercise at Pod Fitness, we also catch up with friends and talk about important issues.
During this session, our trainer Sanne and two clients Sophie and Cassandre were talking all things female health.
We discussed how the menstrual cycle, hormones and the menopause all have an effect on how we exercise.
Talking through these issues and being open about how you might feel during a session is very important to us.
And it’s amazing how much you can learn from each other when you share your experiences!
Have your hormones ever held you back with exercise? Let us know in the comments ♥️

What is NEAT and how can it help us?
NEAT = Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis is the energy expenditure we use for daily activity, besides sleeping, sport related exercise and eating.
Examples of NEAT:
✨ walking the dog
✨ gardening
✨ carrying the food shopping
✨ walking to work
✨ walking upstairs
✨ washing the car
Benefits of NEAT:
✅ helps with muscle recovery
✅ can help relieve stress and improve mental health
✅ reduces risk of chronic disease
✅ improves cardiovascular health
✅ it’s a low impact form of movement
✅ it won’t interfere with any other activity/ exercise you are doing
There are many benefits of increasing your daily NEAT, and not is it only a skill-free way to increase your daily movement, it’s free and involves all of your day to day activities!
Whether you’re new to exercise or a regular pod team member- getting your NEAT in line can really help you to achieve your goals 💪
