Grindleton is pleased to be hosting its annual bonfire again this year at Grindleton Recreation Ground on Thursday 5th November.

The bonfire will be lit at 6pm and firework display at 6.30pm. Hot Dogs, cakes and hot drinks will be available as well as Gluhwein.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please do not bring your own fireworks or alcohol. Donations of cakes are always welcome.

No refunds after 1st November.

Please be aware of people attempting to sell "unwanted" tickets - there are no secondary ticket sales for this event. All tickets must be purchased via Ticket Source and will be validated on the night.

The bacon butty summer fasting comes to an end on Saturday 26th September.

The Pavilion’s BACON BUTTY CLUB will be open from 9.30am to noon for a sociable breakfast and chat.

Come down and enjoy bacon and sausage teacake options with veggie breakfast alternatives. Tea and coffee included for a modest £5.

the bacon butty club operates every 4th Saturday of the month through to spring.

THE HOUGHTON WEAVERS, The Northwest’s Premiere Comedy / Folk Group, have been entertaining folk for over 50 years! with their unique blend of popular folk music, humour and audience participation. With countless Television and Radio appearances under their belt, they continue to tour across a wide selection of theatres and venues.

Having recently performed as a headline Act at The Great British Folk Festival, their single “Wild Mountain Thyme” appeared in the Heritage Charts Top 40 and is due to appear in an upcoming film, ‘Between Weathers’. The band has recorded over 30 albums at iconic studios including Abbey Road and Frog Studios, 23 of which were arranged and produced by Steve Millington.

You’ll hear the old Weavers favourites such as Blackpool Belle, Sit Thi Deawn, Matchstalk Men and Dirty Old Town, together with new pieces, original songs and poems. From raucous energetic folk songs and sing-a-long classics to beautiful poignant ballads, and audience requests thrown in, each and every show with The Houghton Weavers is a little different!

Jim Berry and Steve Millington, featuring Simon Brady on mandolin, is an exciting combination on stage which will certainly have you singing along to this feel-good show!
