They could curl up on the couch. They could claim the dog bed. They could stretch out on the floor. Instead, they somehow decide that the very best place in the house is wherever your feet happen to be.

It's never about finding the softest spot. It's about finding your spot. A Schnauzer doesn't just want to be in the same room. They want that little point of contact that says, "𝙄'𝙢 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙭𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩."

After a long day, there's something almost therapeutic about feeling that familiar weight settle across your feet. The television is on, the house has finally grown quiet, and without anyone saying a word, your evening has its supervisor in place. The job isn't exciting, but someone has to make sure you stay exactly where you belong.

It's one of those quiet little routines that probably seems perfectly normal until you mention it to another Schnauzer owner and discover they've been living the exact same evening for years. Different homes, different couches, different people... but somehow the same pair of warm feet always ends up with a Schnauzer on top of them.

For a breed that spends the day following us from room to room, maybe this is their favorite part of all. The day's adventures are over, everyone is finally together, and the only thing left to supervise is making sure the family stays put for just a little while longer.
