Tonbridge half marathon ✅

Was just aiming to make it round this time as training was pretty much non-existent. Very happy to knock a few minutes off last year’s time!

A huge well done to and for absolutely smashing it round 💪🏻

Now to train for Tunbridge Wells in February!

Tonbridge Triathlon 2022 ✅
Second time doing the standard distance, first time on a mountain bike! Definitely paid for it with quad cramp on the run 😂
Not the best time ever, but goes to show that you don’t need all the gear, and gives me something to work on for next time!

Bewl Water Half Marathon completed!

With the Tonbridge Triathlon cancelled, I decided to set myself a new challenge. Was definitely not expecting some of the hills around Bewl though! The rain and mud made for a somewhat character building experience 😂 that’s the first time my waterproof has stayed on for an entire run!
Happy with the result though, made it round in one piece and in 1 hour 56 😀
Making it a mission to knock 5-10 minutes off next year though!

To achieve any goal, consistency is key (a good training plan helps too)! If you put the time and effort in, the results will come. As personal trainers, we make sure everything you’re doing is directly relevant to your goals, meaning every second you spend training is putting you a step closer to achieving them. If you’re a little unsure with your training, a PT could definitely help!

Another leg session today, this time focusing on squats.

Over lockdown I spent time working on my squat depth and form, which was definitely needed. Since getting back to the gym I’ve been working on increasing my strength in squats and deadlifts.
Following Friday’s deadlift success, I thought I’d test my squat, and was pleasantly surprised to get a PB of 170kg for 2 reps! (Depth could be better, but fear of getting stuck kicked in a little)
Still lots of room for progress and development, but definitely heading in the right direction 😀

Taking my home workouts to new levels!

Training should be fun, so I bought myself a rope to climb. It’s just as much about technique as it is strength. Still got some room for improvement on the technique, but that’s part of the fun.

Pleased I didn’t wear shorts for this!

Finally beat my target of a 22 minute 5k!

Started lockdown hitting 23 minutes on a very good day, just goes to show what consistent training will achieve!

Next step, 21 minutes and a sub 10 minute mile and a half....

I’ve already done the 5,5,5 challenge once, but for such a good cause I was happy to be nominated again and give it another go!

Pushed for a faster time today and managed to set a new pb in the process! Still aiming for 20 minutes though...

This time I nominate anyone who’s up for the challenge!

If you’re giving this a go, remember to warm up properly and go at your own pace (walking 5k is great too). Most importantly stay safe and maintain social distancing!

#5,5,5 challenge
Thanks for the nomination and
Always up for a challenge, especially for such a great cause!
Very lucky to have empty country roads to run on, 5k without seeing anyone!

Remember to stay safe and keep your distance whilst exercising!

No gym, no problem!

There’s no doubt I’m really missing the gym, but that doesn’t mean my workouts have to stop.

Today I made a new addition to my home workout equipment... I built a pull up bar in my garden 😀

This should allow me to maintain strength through these uncertain times. Just need to find something to squat or deadlift now....

10k done!
Thought I’d make the most of the sunny weather today and go for a longer run.
Getting the training in ready for this year’s triathlon and half marathon. Aiming for 45 minutes or less for 10k by summer.
