🏉 Young Match Official - Well Done Nate! 👏

A big shout-out to one of our Trowbridge U15s, Nate, who took charge of his second match as a young match official this week.

Nate kindly helped out at local club Melksham Rugby, refereeing the U12s Fawns match against Royal Wootton Bassett Ravens.

It’s fantastic to see our young players getting involved in different areas of the game and showing that rugby is about much more than just playing. Nate did a fantastic job, and his contribution helped make the evening a great success.

Well done Nate! 👏🏉

Keep up the great work - we’re all very proud of you! 💪

💬 “Trowbridge U15s 24–19 Minety

First game of the season

What a fantastic way for Trowbridge U15s to start the season!

After all the hard work and commitment shown throughout pre-season, it was great to see that effort pay off in the first game. The boys put in a strong all-round team performance to come away with a 24–19 victory over Minety.

The forwards were excellent throughout, with the set piece working particularly well. The introduction of lifting in our lineouts was a real success, with all the lifters and jumpers working together effectively and showing great understanding.

The backs also impressed, demonstrating great speed, quality handling and attacking intent. There were some outstanding individual performances across the team, but most importantly, everyone contributed as a squad. The support at the breakdowns and in open play was excellent, with the boys working hard for each other throughout the match.

Trowbridge crossed the line five times, with Jack scoring two tries and Seb scoring three. Tyler added two successful conversions to help secure the win.

There were plenty of strong performances across the team, but Jack was deservedly named Man of the Match after an outstanding display.

A brilliant start to the season, and a great reward for all the hard work put in during pre-season. Plenty to be proud of and lots to build on as the season continues.”

The boys got their season off to a brilliant start with an outstanding team performance at the tournament, showing fantastic energy, teamwork and determination from the first whistle to the last.

A special mention to two standout performances:

💪 George S – Impressive hard, direct running, consistently making ground and putting the opposition under pressure.

🔥 Eric – Absolutely tireless around the breakdown, working relentlessly to secure possession and making sure every ruck he arrived at was won.

Both boys were brilliant examples of the effort, commitment and teamwork shown throughout the squad.

A fantastic all-round team effort, with plenty of positives to take forward as the season gets underway. Keep up the hard work, boys – the future looks bright! 💙🏉”

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 📣

💬 “First match of the season for our under 16 players. The lads really put down a strong opening statement getting 3 tries, converting 2 within the first 10 mins.

There was absolutely everything in the first half. We had the forwards giving us power with well drilled pods and some of the strongest rucking we have seen from the lads. The clear outs were fast and clean giving our scrum half a quick ball out to the backs and down the wing.

There were some amazing individual runs but always backed up by supporting players.

With only 13 players today and the opposition having subs, we expected the lads to really dip in the second half. But we were wrong. They all dug deep and smashed out another 30 points in the second half.

Although we had 3 new players starting with Trowbridge this season, it certainly didn’t look like it was their first club match with us. All the lads knew their role and supported each other throughout.

We hope this is the start of a very good season for the U16s. Well Done lads.

💬 “What a fantastic performance from the U11s today away at the Royal Wootton Bassett RFC festival! 🏉

All the hard work put in over the last few weeks on new skills and tactics paid off in a big way. The squad put on an absolute masterclass of total rugby from the very first whistle to the last - a brilliant performance and a fantastic way to kick off the season.

Huge thank you to Royal Wootton Bassett RFC for hosting such a well-run event with a brilliant atmosphere.

And finally, a massive thank you to all the parents for your support. You should be exceptionally proud of every single player out there today!”
