The Footlights We are a voluntary run dance & performance group based in Trowbridge, for children & young people aged 4+.

We perform a traditional pantomime every November.

Dame, dame, dame!!!

Spots, stripes, buttons, ric-rac, sequins, foam, and hula hoops! These are just some of the components needed for the dame’s costumes this year! 🤩

We have currently completed 3 out of 14 Dame costumes so far!

We love the challenge of the Dame- trying to go bigger and bolder every year! 🩷

From the leaning tower of Pisa, to a handbag, to a Nutella jar for ‘Pinocchio’ last year, I wonder what’s in store for the Dame in ‘Peter Pan’!! 👀

The principal cast had a great rehearsal today. Whilst there’s so much to practice at the moment, after a summer off from regular classes, everyone is putting in lots of effort to understand where their role fits into the pantomime. 🎭

Second to the right and straight on to The Dragonfly Theatre! The Footlights are back for a brand new, high flying pantomime adventure!

Join Peter Pan and his trusty sidekick Tink, as they take the 'Darling' children on a magical journey to Neverland. Along the way they meet pesky Pirates, magical Mermaids and the lively Lost Boys, but the fun comes to a halt when the villainous Captain Hook shows up, seeking revenge on Peter Pan. 🧚

Expect hundreds of sparkling costumes, high energy musical numbers, a cast of over 80 local children and young people, and not forgetting a fabulously flamboyant Dame, this pantomime is the perfect treat for the whole family!

We’ve just had our first script rehearsal this evening. There’s plenty to look forward to and it’s lots of fun for all ages!

A reminder for parents of dancers in Class 1 (5:30-6:15pm) & Class 2 (6:15-7pm).

Please ensure you have confirmed whether your dancer/s would like to take part in our upcoming pantomime, Peter Pan. 🎭

If you haven’t already done so, please reply YES by Thursday 20th August.
Once we have received confirmation from everyone, we will send out details of performance and rehearsal dates.

Repeat, repeat, repeat!

Tonight we began learning a VERY fast section to the opening of Act 2!

It was even more tricky as it’s performed in canon, rather than all in unison…challenge accepted! 🤣 👯‍♀️
