Well… what a weekend that was 🤣🥋
A huge thank you to EVERYONE who voted, shared, messaged friends, pestered family members, harassed work colleagues and generally threw themselves behind our Fundraising Team’s Aldi Scotland competition push 😂👏

We ended up with WELL OVER 2,300 VOTES 😮🔥

Absolutely incredible.
Now for the slightly ridiculous part…

If voting closed at MIDNIGHT last night…
WE WON 🙌🤣

If it closed at MIDDAY today…
WE LOST 😭🤣

And at the moment…
WE’VE NAE CLUE 😂😂😂

So we’re currently waiting for Aldi Scotland to put us out of our misery 🤣

A massive well done as well to Inverclyde Amateur Swimming Club 👏

That turned into some battle 😂

Back and forward, checking numbers, refreshing Facebook and somehow turning a community sports fund vote into the most exciting sporting contest of the weekend 🤣

And special kudos must go to Troon Lawn Tennis Club 🎾👏

They appear to have taken one look at what was happening and made the very sensible decision to stay completely out of the madness, enjoy their weekend and NOT get blocked by friends and family for repeatedly asking them to vote 😂😂😂

In hindsight…
They may have been the real winners here. 🤣

Whatever the final result, though, the response from our community has been phenomenal.

This whole application and campaign was driven by our Senjokai Fundraising Team, who work incredibly hard behind the scenes to raise additional funds and create opportunities for our members and squad athletes.

And you lot absolutely got behind them. ❤️

MEDALS, TITLES AND BLACK BELTS AREN’T ENOUGH…

At Senjokai, we are incredibly proud of our coaching team.

We have coaches and athletes who are World, European, British and Scottish medallists, sitting alongside highly qualified senior Dan grades examined and graded in Japan.

That experience matters but when you’re trusting someone with your child, it still isn’t enough.

❌Medals don’t replace safeguarding.
❌Black belt isn’t a background check.

And competition success doesn’t automatically make someone suitable to coach children.

Parents should also expect:

✅ PVG-checked coaches
✅ Appropriate insurance
✅ Recognised coaching standards
✅ Safeguarding procedures
✅ Proper accountability and oversight
✅ The support of an accredited governing body

Senjokai is proud to be a Karate Scotland accredited club, with properly accredited, disclosed and insured coaches.

We want children to learn from people who understand karate at the highest level but who also understand the responsibility that comes with teaching them.

Great karate matters.
