🌟 Funding Opportunity for Clubs, Groups & Organisations Supporting People with a Disability 🌟

The Sunrise Moments Community Fund has launched a new funding opportunity to help disabled people enjoy greater independence, inclusion and opportunities within their communities.
Grants of up to £500 for groups are available to support projects and activities such as:

✅ Disability sport and physical activity programmes
✅ Accessible community events and activities
✅ Specialist mobility equipment
✅ Accessible experiences and days out
✅ Projects that improve accessibility and inclusion
✅ Initiatives that remove barriers to participation
The fund is open to sports clubs, community groups, charities, disability organisations and other local projects that support disabled people.

📅 Application deadline: 30 September 2026

This could be a great opportunity to support new equipment, participation initiatives, taster sessions, accessibility improvements, or projects that help create more inclusive opportunities within your organisation

Sunrise Moments Community Fund Up to £5,000 is available for projects that help wheelchair users and disabled people enjoy greater independence, inclusion and opportunity.

Local community groups, charities and third sector organisations can now apply for this year’s funding awards from our One Council Partnership Fund (OCPF).
The application window for 2027/28 grant funding opened today (Tuesday, 1 September) and closes on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
OCPF funding enables us to support community organisations in their work to help to reduce inequalities and make East Lothian a better place to live.
The OCPF issued over £1.3 million in grants for 2026/27 to more than 30 community-based groups across the county.

While slightly later than usual in the calendar, this week sees the National Championships kick off with TBC once again fielding a strong contingent down in sunny Ayrshire at the National Bowls Centre.

With our Ladies Triples looking to defend their 2025 Scottish title, and our strong Men's Fours both taking to the green we will no doubt also have the usual Big T support in their masses cheering them on!

Also we want to wish all of the fellow East Lothian Bowls teams the best of luck across the week!

📢 Free Hoodies for UK Charities

Are you involved with a registered charity that could benefit from branded clothing for volunteers?

Hoodie Hut's Hoodies for Charity initiative is now open for applications. Selected charities can receive 10 free hoodies or free t-shirts to support volunteers at fundraising, promotional, and community events. The programme has already donated more than 750 hoodies to 75 charities across the UK.

Hoodies For Charity – HoodieHut Every school that orders leavers’ hoodies helps us donate one printed hoodie to a UK charity.

🌿 We're delighted that the East Lothian Kit Stop will be attending the Wee Green Festival at The Fraser Centre this Wednesday.
